37 Unique Selling Points SLC Roadster Hard-Top The standard hard top vario-roof gives the SLC two distinct exterior profiles: sleek sports coupe and stylish roadster. The coordination of moving parts while the roof is retracting/extending is a spectacle in of itself. Adaptability Whether driving spiritedly or quietly commuting, the SLC is adaptable to any motorist s mood, driving preference, or hair style. When equipped with AIRSCARF, the SLC becomes the ultimate everyday sports car. Mercedes estimates that the SLC 43 can hit 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, and based on the massive surges of acceleration we experienced whenever we pushed past the throttle s midway point, that time is totally believable. Car and Driver We can t emphasize enough how docile and drivable both models are in dense traffic, or forgivable when you lose focus on the right line around a corner. And then there s the superb Airscarf system, which pipes just the right amount of hot air onto your neck to keep you warm, with the heated seats. It s not a new feature, but it continues to be absolutely charming in this small roadster, combined with impressive wind buffeting for such a short vehicle. Motor Authority The pace is there, but a gleeful willingness is not. Depending on the road, the SLC 43's various driving assists should help keep it glued to the rear bumper of a Jaguar F- Type with the supercharged V6. Road & Track 38
