This information is then used to derive the optimal solution for your application. If technically advisable, we will recommend standard components such as the MEFO-BOX system with the standard dimensions of the cleaning machine manufacturers. This offers tangible advantages for you, including immediate off-the-shelf availability as well as compatibility with customary boxes and baskets. In addition, off-the-shelf products are more cost-effective than customised solutions. Last but not least, the MEFO-BOX system can be extended and supplemented at any time according to your requirements with additional standard accessories such as the fl exible MEFO-VARIO, MEFO-SYS or customised accessories and workpiece holders. 3

The high-quality, long-life material is suitable for all cleaning media and prevents return contamination from the basket to the component as well as contamination of the baths due to corrosion and zinc separation. The use of rounds also offers advantages for cleaning. Unlike boxes from sheet or perforated sheet, our wire baskets have optimal drainage behaviour and minimised media carryover. The uncompromising (cleaning) quality is further enhanced by the fact that our baskets are constructed without sheet metal frames and angles. There are therefore no parts of the basket where particles or dirt can collect, which would contaminate the component and/or cleaning medium. As the rounds are completely welded together, there are no sharp corners, edges or wire ends, which retrieve the risk of injury. For design reasons, baskets with mesh width 12 mm have a larger mesh at the corners. In the few cases where it is required, we can reduce the size of this mesh using an additional corner wire. The large 16 mm stacking frame is not only compatible with customary cleaning and transport baskets, but also provides a high degree of stacking safety. Electrolytic polishing makes the surface extremely smooth and closed. It also invests the components of the MEFO-BOX system with a high quality shine. This high quality look often means that the baskets are handled with greater care. 4

Component protection To avoid damage when cleaning workpieces with sensitive surfaces, we offer various methods of protection for the components.

This cost-effective plastic grille is a wearing part which must be replaced in regular intervals.

5 Component protection To avoid damage when cleaning workpieces with sensitive surfaces, we offer various methods of protection for the components. A special plastic grille, made of either PA or PP, which can be used on the base of the basket, as an intermediate layer and closure, prevents scratches or damage caused by metal on metal contact. This cost-effective plastic grille is a wearing part which must be replaced in regular intervals. Inserting bottoms, compartment rods and other components are also optionally available with HALAR or RILSAN coating. These plastic coatings wear over time and must be reapplied at regular intervals. Special temperature and media-resistant Tefl on clips enable selective coating of the areas of compartment rods and separators that come into contact with the workpieces. Tefl on clips are predominantly used for heavy and/or sharp-edged workpieces, where plastic coatings would wear too quickly. 5

This in turn reduces production costs. And reducing production costs is what the MEFO-BOX system is all about, with its uniquely wide range of accessories, which are available off-the-shelf. From production, through initial and fi nal cleaning, right up to assembly or dispatch, the entire workpiece handling process can be carried out easily, quickly and gently with the MEFO-BOX system. The MEFO-BOX adapts to your specifi c requirements with various sizes, mesh widths and models. MEFO-BOX MEFO-BOX, model for heavy loads The MEFO-BOX model for heavy loads was developed specifi cally for cleaning and transporting large and heavy parts.

The MEFO-BOX model for heavy loads is available with mesh width 12 mm. The adjustable lid is available as an accessory on the model for heavy loads.

The use of thicker wire rounds (4 mm diameter compared to 3 mm on the standard model) allows you to achieve higher load and stacking capacities. The MEFO-BOX model for heavy loads is available with mesh width 12 mm. The adjustable lid is available as an accessory on the model for heavy loads. Depending on the load, the inserting bottom (mesh width 12 mm) and clamping lid of the standard model can also be used with the basket for heavy loads. MEFO-BOX, lined model We designed the lined MEFO-BOX for cleaning and transporting small parts in large batches. It is based on the standard model, with mesh width 12 mm. The MEFO-BOX and the supporting lid which is included in delivery are lined with wire fabric mesh width 1, 2 or 3 mm. The lid has a special sealing frame. It is not possible to use an adjustable or clamping lid on the lined MEFO-BOX. For small parts in smaller batches, we recommend using the bulk material baskets. This means parts cannot fl oat upwards or fall out when the MEFO-BOX is immersed, swivelled or rotated. Individual parts are initially covered with an inserting bottom whereas up to 2 bulk material baskets per base area can be locked directly with the clamping lid. If there are more than 2 baskets per base area, an additional modifi ed inserting bottom must be used to distribute the clamping force of the rollers equally across all bulk material baskets. The material to be cleaned is quickly and easily secured by two eccentric tilting levers. The clamping lid, which is made of stainless steel rounds and Tefl on clamping rollers, is predominantly used for cleaning processes with a rotating basket. The maximum load capacity of the clamping lid is 80 kg. 10

The baskets are available in full, half, quarter and eighth-size (based on the base area of the corresponding MEFO-BOX) in mesh widths 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8 mm. For special applications, different bulk material baskets with mesh widths 0.5 and 0.3 mm are also available. The wide range of bulk material baskets enables you to pool various small parts in a MEFO-BOX and then clean them cost-effectively in one charge without the risk of intermixing the parts. The baskets are inserted in the respective MEFO-BOX and securely locked with the appropriate clamping lid. A height of at least 74 mm is required for use of the clamping lid.
