CRS inspection done in Bogeebil bridge including south bank and North bank connection (33.10 km) on & authorization 100 kmph on NH Approaches :- i)north Bank= Work on NH approaches on North Bank is complete. ii)nh approaches are being executed by Chief Engineer, PWD/NH, Govt. of Assam. South Bank : 1)Work of NH approaches by PWD, Assam :- Work of NH approaches on South bank including ROB works was stopped since January 2018 due to non solution of Revised Estimate by MoRTH. 2)ROB work was stopped from January 2018 up to due to non payment to the contractor by PWD/NH. Work has been resumed by PWD contractor from and the ROB work is likely to completed by November 2018 only as informed by PWD/NH Assam. 5. Assistance Required from Board Nil

10 4. Highlights Initial Pink Book Cost :- Rs Crs. ROR :- (-) 7.95 % Sanctioned as National Project vide RB L/No 95/W-1/LCT/NF/1 Dated Engine rolling was done in Tetelia-Kamalajari (10.00 km) section on CRS inspection done in Tetelia-Kamalajari (10.00 km) section of Tetelia-Byrnihat New line project (21.50 km) on and authorization received on Assistance Required from Board There is an unauthorized permanent structure on the Rly alignment at proposed Byrnihat station site. The building has come up after land estimate and compensation of land was made.the case is lying in the High Court, Shillong. Khasi Students Union is not allowing to resume the works in Byrnihat area. State Govt. has not yet resolved the issue with Khasi Students Union. Security personnel has also not been provided at Byrnihat to resume the work inspite of repeated request. 6. Issues of Concern STATUS OF LAND ACQUISITION:- PATTA LAND & GOVT. LAND :- All Patta and Govt. Land taken over physically. FOREST LAND ( Ha):- All Forest Land of Assam State has been handed over to Railway on SECURITY CONCERN IN MEGHALAYA:- i)khasi Student Union (KSU) of Meghalaya has been opposing the new Railway line in the State of Meghalaya with apprehension of increase in influx by outsiders. They (KSU) are insisting that protection mechanism to check influx of the outsiders should be put in place along with construction of Railway line. Due to this fact, they created obstruction at work sites and they are not allowing to resume the works at Byrnihat area (In Meghalaya Portion 2.25 Km.) ii)on about 200 people under the banner of KSU came to work site at Byrnihat( Ronghana Village) and they set a dumper machine and a roller machine on fire. Also 7 Nos dumpers and 5 Nos excavators were damaged. The workers were beaten up brutally resulting 4 workers sustained grievous injury. The incident has been reported to State Govt. Meghalaya. FIR was lodged with PS/Byrnihat. iii) Regular meetings have been held with State Govt. of Meghalaya. As directed by the State Govt. security barracks have been constructed at Byrnihat Station. But till now security has not been provided to resume the works. iv) There are 5 Nos. EHT power line tower to be shifted by NETCL( North East Transmission Company Limited) out of which erection of 3 Nos. in Assam and erection of 1 no tower in Meghalaya completed. Other one is under construction and expected to be completed shortly. Shifting to these High Tension line (Electrical line) is required to free the infringement of ongoing Major bridge construction works. v)again on , Shri Rajen Gohain, Minister of State(Railways) along with GM/Con, CAO/Con-I and CE/Con-IX held meeting with his Exellency Governor of Meghalaya and PWD Minister representing CM, Meghalaya and discussed the issue related to this project. State Govt. has assured all help to resume the work in Meghalaya portion. Khasi Students Union has again warned not to resume works in Meghalaya Portion. State Govt. has been requested to provide security at site, but till now nothing has been done. vi) Khasi Students Union on seeing the temporary security barrack construction at Byrnihat, again asked the Contractor and Engineers not to start the work. vii) CM, Meghalaya had called GM/CON for a meeting on to review Rly. works in Meghalaya. He advised that the issue of Khasi Students Union will be resolved by providing facilitation centre at each station. This facilitation centre be first constructed at existing Mendipathar Station in Garohills District, Meghalaya after joint inspection/ verification of site between State Govt. and Rly.

In Nepal portion, Biratnagar station yard work could not be commenced due to delay in Land acquisition by Govt. of Nepal(GON). Land between Km to Km has not been acquired by GON as the occupants has appealed to court against less land compensation fixed by Nepal Govt. for the land plots.court has disposed off the appeal in Jan 15 and authorized CDO/Morang District to take care for a solution of handing over of land to IRCON. Biratnagar station yard work could not be commenced due to delay in Land acquisition by Govt. of Nepal. During 1 st Joint Working Group (JWG) held on at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi, the Govt. of Nepal has assured to hand over the land between Km to Km by However between km to Km no land has been handed over by GON to IRCON.

Finally, the takeoff for the project was decided from the Dhansiri station, a station in Karbi District of Assam, at about 19 Km short of Dimapur & the same was approved vide Nagaland Government letter No. TPT/IST/RAIL/2011 dated Present Status :- Total Detail Estimated cost for Rs Crs.(Pt-I,II & III) has been sanctioned. Status of works is as under - (i) Dhansiri to Dhansiri River ( Km 0.00 to Km. 2.75) ( Assam Portion) : Land acquisition in process for Ha. Karbi Anglong District Council submitted revised estimate for land. Payment was made on Disbursement is complete by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). Land is yet to be hand over to Rly by KAAC.
