Back in the mid-1990s, when we first started to import these sculptures to the UK, the group used to exhibit and sell their range in galleries in Harare and we would always pay them a fair price and pay them in US dollars, which has been especially beneficial during recent years. The artists have always been encouraged to produce new designs and take a pride in their work. As a result the artists have been able to continue producing their sculptures through difficult times and this has helped their families to secure a good standard of living, plus the artists extended families have always been helped and supported with regards to welfare, education and support. Welcome to our latest Catalogue with even more new designs added to our range, and more colour illustrations to help see the quality and finish of these beautiful sculptures. All our bird sculptures are individually sculpted from reclaimed metal, mainly old oil drums. The metal is cleaned thoroughly before use, burnished and then cut to size and individually hand-crafted to produce stunning sculptures, suitable for gardens or interiors. The sculptures are coated with varnish when completed and we simply recommend an annual coating of yacht varnish, or an anti-rusting agent called Owatrol, which also gives a varnish-like finish when dry, to keep your sculpture in good condition if placed outside. We also provide stakes for the feet of the larger sculptures to enable them to remain stable on the ground. Our range of metal bird sculptures are made by a group of artists in Zimbabwe, known as Birdwoods. They are recognised as being the highest quality metal bird sculptures available in Zimbabwe - and although there have been many attempted copies, nobody else has succeeded in creating the same degree of detail and movement. We are the main UK agent for the Birdwoods range and all our sculptures are stamped/ringed with the artists logo for authenticity. We have been selling our range of sculptures since 1995! We are a small family-run business, based in Suffolk, who take pride in offering a personalised service to our clients. We offer the widest range of quality metal bird sculptures, with new designs and styles appearing each year to an increasingly loyal band of customers/collectors. THE NORMAL FINISH - is the standard finish for all of our sculptures and is an attractive brown metal, with varying degrees of warm, subtle hues.

4 NOTES ABOUT OUR SCULPTURES In most cases, our bird sculptures are true-to-size, incredibly detailed and resemble the bird they aim to represent. There are 2 distinct finishes to the sculptures, the Normal Finish and the Bronzed-Effect Finish, which we call the Bronzed Finish. THE NORMAL FINISH - is the standard finish for all of our sculptures and is an attractive brown metal, with varying degrees of warm, subtle hues. THE BRONZED-EFFECT FINISH - is the same reclaimed metal but it has been copper-plated to give a bronzed effect. It is not bronze and will not go green with age, but the copper-plating adds an attractive warmth to the sculptures, however, it still needs an annual coating of yacht varnish to keep the bronzed-effect looking good. Only a selection of our range are available in the bronzedeffect, but if it is not clear, please do check with us when ordering. If you would like a particular sculpture in the bronzed-effect which we do not have in stock, you can always order one to be made up for you, which could involve a 3-6 month wait. CARE LEAFLET & STAKES All our sculptures come with a Care Leaflet reminding how to look after your sculpture if placed outside, and the larger sculptures also come with 2 stakes to help secure them on the ground. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED If you are not satisfied with your sculpture, it can either be exchanged or refunded within 28 days of purchase. ORDERS & LIMITED EDITIONS Because all of our sculptures are hand-crafted, there is a limit to the number produced, so if we do not have a design in stock, we can order one to be made up, with usually a 3-6 month wait. SIZES All sizes are approximate. Sculptures are more or less true to life-size of bird, but this is not always the case due to the artists discretion. In addition, as each sculpture is individually hand-crafted they may vary slightly from the illustration shown in the catalogue or on the website. FREE DELIVERY & QUICK DELIVERY All small-medium size sculptures are sent via First Class Post at no extra charge, whilst the larger sculptures are sent by courier. The date of the delivery can be discussed when making your order to suit yourself and to fit in with our schedule of orders going off, but orders are always despatched quickly or to suit the timings of the customer ie. for a Birthday or Anniversary Present - especially if buying a sculpture for a present and storage may be a problem!
