1 PR015/17 9 February 2017 More Frequent Train Services and New Mobile Charging Facilities Bring Greater Convenience to Passengers from February Passengers will enjoy more frequent and convenient train services especially on Fridays and weekends as a new round of MTR train service enhancements commence from 17 February 2017 with 148 extra weekly train trips being added to the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Island. (See Annex 1 for details) Operations Director of MTR Corporation Mr Adi Lau said, With the latest train service enhancement initiative, we have brought the total number of extra train trips added per week to more than 2,900 since 2012 to enhance the convenience and comfort of passengers journeys. While we are upgrading the signalling system of six MTR railway lines and the Airport Express gradually to allow more frequent and convenient MTR train service in the future, we will continue to find ways to step up the train frequency where possible. In addition, passengers will find their travel experience even more convenient with the introduction of free mobile device charging service at 13 MTR stations starting in late February The power charging USB sockets are located at the i-centres of the stations so that passengers can power up and stay connected throughout their MTR journeys.
