1 Synopsis In the following case study, a poultry processing plant with 7 SP1000 (predecessor to SP2000) units installed experienced monthly reductions in their electricity consumption ranging from 12.5% to 16.75% NOTE: SP2000 and SP1000 are the same with the exception that SP2000 has advanced reporting and internet connectivity to support remote monitoring with inclusion of summarized and averaged data, as well as detail data. All test results for SP1000 would be identical for SP2000.

The installation of 7 SP1000E units was complete on 11/28/13, the first reading without the SP1000 units in action was 12/5/13 the bill was issued on 12/6/13 (bill # 1 ) note the P.F. was 74.4% and the KVAR (negative power) was Bill #1 2. As per the contract the customer was promised that we will do a independent case study even before the new bill arrives via a Fluke 1730 (energy logger), on Sunday 12/2/13 we started a 24 hour recording via a Fluke 1730 on an 800Amp Disconnect the source for 3 sub-panels in the building where 3 SP1000E units was installed, the first round 12/2/13 at 6:59pm was done with our SP1000 units shut via their disconnect, on Monday 12/3/13 7:02pm we started a new recording with the SP1000 units turned on, the results: KVA 20.8% lower, KVAR 34.5% lower and P.F. 8% higher thus reducing the energy consumption/kwh with 12.75% ( below is the readings of the fluke 1730). Also part of the savings is due to the SP1000 system is perfecting some voltage (in this case a 1% increase as seen below) thus boosting the efficiency of the motor/compressor achieving the same output in less operating time. It must be noted that on 12/15/13 they started to run an additional new 15 ton ice-maker machine and water tower, as per the the readings it draws a minimum of 100 Amps (its wired to a 150 Amp disconnect) constantly working 12 hours a day excluding Friday & Saturday, the calculation of added electricity usage is as follows 100Amps at 480V at Power Factor 83.2% (improved P.F.) = KW (Source: KW X 12 Hours = KWH (Source: from 12/15/13 to 1/7/14 (date of new reading) there is 17 working days KWH X 17 = 14, KWH that was not used last month or last year. 5. The new full bill was obtained on 1/8/14 (bill #2) the readings was 203,058 KWH, P.F. 83.2%, KVAR billing cycle was 33 days (note the P.F. and the KVAR numbers itself shows a significant upgrade in efficiency) the management of the poultry processing plant asked us to compare it to last year's bill and to last month's bill (due to comparability of production output), (a) compared to last year's bill dated 1/7/13 (Bill #3) readings was 201,316 KWH P.F. 74.1% KVAR 483 billing cycle was 31 days calculation: 201,316 KWH / 31 days = 6, KWH per day X 33 days (current cycle) = 214, KWH + 14, KWH (above mentioned new equipment) = 228,414.66Kwh - 203,058 (actual current bill) = 25, KWH that's 12.5% lower vs. last year, (b) last month's bill dated 12/6/13 (Bill #1) readings was 209,560 KWH billing cycle was 31 days calculation: 209,560 / 31 Days = 6,760 KWH per day X 33 Days (current cycle) = 223,080 KWH + 14, KWH (above mentioned new equipment) = 237, KWH - 203,058 KWH (actual current bill) = 34, KWH that's 16.75% lower. Month # 2 bill dated 2/06/14 (Bill #4) readings was 195,767 KWH P.F. 82.2% KVAR 378 billing cycle was 29 days, last year's bill dated 2/06/13 (Bill #5) readings was 223,617 KWH P.F. 76% KVAR billing cycle was 32 days calculation: 223,614 KWH / 32 Days = 6, X 29 days (current cycle) =202, , ( KWH X 21 days for above mentioned new equipment) = 220, ,767 (actual reading) = 24, that's 12.5% lower Bill #4 Bill #5 7. Month # 3 bill dated 3/07/14 (Bill #6) readings was 193,201 KWH P.F. 82.7% KVAR 382 billing cycle was 29 days, last year's bill dated 3/07/13 (Bill #7) readings was 208,098 KWH P.F. 77.5% KVAR billing cycle was 29 days calculation: 208,098 KWH + 17, ( KWH X 21 days for above mentioned new equipment) = 225, ,201 (actual reading) = 32, that's 14.5% lower. bill #6 Bill #7 Page 5
