(Input/Output Bypass) The PSAC comes with two removable breaker brackets that each hold 8 QOU breakers or 12 OutBack 15 or 20 amp load breakers. In addition the PSAC comes with one hot terminal block, one neutral terminal block and one chassis/ground terminal block. There are places to mount up to 2 step up / down auto formers. Use the FX-ACA adapter to mount the OutBack FX series inverter to the PSAC 2 knockouts. Make sure to cut the 2 circles out of the plastic adapter. Punching it out will crack the plastic. UL 94V-0 plastic is required for the adapter and this type of plastic is somewhat brittle. The PSAC as well as the PSDC mounts directly up to the Trace SW and DR series inverters. Use the lower set of slots in the PSAC when mounting FX or SW series 1 or 2 to the OutBack PSMP mounting plate and PSAC. The AC-IOB-60 is designed for one inverter only. Two of these can be used for a pair of inverters. One bypass switch would be hooked up to each inverter and bypassing would be done independently. Care must be exercised To not overload the neutral on houses wired with a common neutral. With individual bypasses, it would be possible to run one leg of the building from a generator or grid and the other from an inverter. The inverter may not be out of phase with the other source. This can cause an overload of the neutral when running a 240 volt load. Remember, the OutBack X-20 is a 240 volt load too! We do not recommend using individual bypass switches. The AC-IOB-60D is designed to bypass two inverters at the same time. This arrangement has only one bypass lever. Most off-grid sites will not require more than 60 amps of pass through. If your generator is less than 14,400 watts at 240VAC then this bypass will suffice. The AC-IOB-100D is a 100 amp arrangement that allows 100 amps at 240 ( on each leg). This model comes with 4 50 amp output breakers. These output breakers are magnetic hydraulic and are rated for 100% current (50 amps). When using a Square D QOU 60 amp breaker, you are required to run it at no more than 50 amps since it is only a thermal breaker. The reason you want individual breakers is that in the event of an inverter failure, the other three inverters should have enough power to trip the output breaker of the defective inverter. This works automatically. The system should continue working alas with reduced power capability.
