The maximum penalty in Wyoming for willfully failing to observe road closure gates or other closure signs, markers, warnings, notices, or directions is a $750 fine and 30 days in jail (W.S ). Reminder: n Conditions at road closure gates may differ from conditions a few miles down the road. n It is against the law to drive on a closed road without authorization. n The safest option is to return to the nearest city or town and wait for the road to open. 10 Road and Travel Information

32 Gasoline Tax Distribution 24-Cent Gasoline Tax Distribution 1 (L.U.S.T.) Penny An amount equivalent to the one cent is diverted from WYDOT s severance taxes to the Department of Environmental Quality for leaking underground fuel storage tank clean-up activities. Rural Area Formula Grants Allows for capital, planning, and operating assistance to support public transportation in rural areas, defined as areas with fewer than 50,000 population. State Planning and Research Programs Provides funds to address local, regional, and statewide transit planning including transit development plans, coordinated human service transportation plans, and design and engineering for transit capital projects. Urbanized Area Formula Program (Pop. Over 50,000) Assists with capital, administrative, and operating expenses for Casper and Cheyenne urbanized transit programs.
