2 eed Model N9355 Direct Immersion TD Model N9355 TD direct immersion temperature sensor is designed and tested to be installed directly into small diameter pipes (less than 12 inches) and low flow rates (less than 20 fps) for rapid detection of temperature changes. The N9355 has been environmentally and seismically qualified for use in IEEE 323 & 344 applications in nuclear power generating stations. The sensor is pressure retaining for this application. Each sensor assembly is hydrostatically tested to 1.5 times the maximum design pressure in accordance with ASME Section III, subsection NB The N9355 design is extremely rugged and yet provides a time response of 2.0 seconds or less. The material selection and configuration of this unique sensor ensures longer installed life at elevated temperatures providing lower cost of ownership. The tip material is SA L S.S. eed Model TDs are supplied in accordance with Ultra Electronics, Nuclear Sensor & Process Instrumentation s Quality Assurance Program which is ISO 9001:2000 egistered. The program is also in compliance with 10CF50 Appendix B, ANSI N45.2, ASME NQA-1 and ASME NCA Application assistance is available for special applications and design requirements. Assistance includes physical configuration requirements such as leadwire length, quick disconnect connectors and other physical details. Actual installation details can affect measurement accuracy and response time. 2

Sensor drift is less than 0.1 C (0.18 F) over 40 years The response time for each sensor is 2.0 seconds or less at lab conditions of 1 meter (3 feet) per second flowing water. esponse time is verified by a plunge test at the factory which shall be at most 2.0 seconds when the sensor is plunged from room temperature air into water flowing at about 82 C (180 F) flowing transverse to the sensor. At room temperature and dry external surfaces, the insulation resistance between any terminal and the sensor case will exceed 100 Megohms with 100 VDC applied and greater than 10 Megohms at 100VDC at 290 C. Standard operating current is 1 to 4 milliamps Each TD assembly shall pass a test pressure equal to 1.5 times the maximum design pressure applied for a minimum of 10 minutes at room temperature. TDs are qualified to IEEE and IEEE General Specifications Storage Storage of the TD should be in accordance with ANSI N45.2 Level B Shipping eight Approximately 2 kg (4 pounds) with 7 meters (23 feet) of cable Connectors Electrical connectors are available as an option 3
