ROTARY ACTUATON OVERTR <::ETRAVEl ' DFFERENT AL TRAVEL RELEASE TRAVEL_; ' The characteristics of McGill switches throughout this catalog are chosen as most significant. The sketches indicate how these characteristics are measured for inline plunger actuation and rotary actuation. Linear dimensions for inline actuation are from top of plunger to a reference line typically the center of the mounting holes. For flange or bottom mounted switches, the reference is the bottom of switch. Rotary actuated and limit switches have characteristics in degrees of angular rotation. Operating characteristics dimensions of these switches with rotary actuators are listed in linear dimensions with the adjustable level in one extreme position. Differential Travel (D.T.). Plunger or actuator travel from point where contacts "snapover" to point where they "snapback." Free Position (F.P.). Switch plunger/ actuator's position with no external force (other than gravity) applied to it. Full Overtravel Force. Force required to attain full overtravel of actuator. Operation Position (O.P.). Switch plunger/actuator's position at point contacts snap from normal to operated position. NonHazardous Locations Type 1 enclosures are intended for indoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against contact with the enclosed equipment. 16 "" 1502 Series Compact Enclosed Switches McGill 1502 Series side and flange mounted switches are availa ble with or without actuator seal boots. They have combination insulator/seal cemented inside the bottom enclosure. Lead washers are used to seal the mounting holes on side mount switches. All side mounts are installed with # screws.
