18 PV + Energy Storage System Les Cèdres, Reunion Island Solar plant with energy storage LES CEDRES The purpose of the Project is to generate and sell electricity from a photovoltaic power plant coupled with an electrical storage system. The Project will be connected to the public power distribution grid (EDF SEI). Selected reference Customer: AKUOENERGY Final customer: Country: La Réunion French Island Indian ocean Application: Renewable energy with energy storage Value: k It will consist of 2 main elements: Scope 1: a solar power plant (SPP) (including solar panel, inverter, and transformer) delivering AC power at a variable output depending on the solar resources and, Scope 2: an Energy Storage System (ESS) consisting of batteries, inverter and transformer capable of both charging from, and delivering, AC power. A programmable logical controller (PLC) will allow for balancing the SPP generation and the PSS load, as well as dispatching the overall system s generation to the grid so as to match its power demand and power quality requirements. A software layer, namely the Energy Management System (EMS), will link up the production forecasts data, active power instructions requested from the Grid, and the PLC. EPC contract 17/33 17/1

Why we won: Thanks to recent experiences demonstrated and implemented successfully for different projects in French islands (Corsica, La Réunion) and French Guyana with solar + BESS Description: Energy conversion and storage solution for a photovoltaic power plant located in Hokkaido Island, Japan. Designed to fully respect the two rules set by the utility: Rule 1: In case of brutal variations of solar power, the storage system must be able to deliver power to the grid with a maximum power variation of 1% of the maximum solar power per minute. Rule 2: The system must be able to decrease the power to the grid from 100% to 0% with a decreasing ramp (and conversely an increasing ramp) of 12% max per minute. The reduction of production and time in that case are transmitted by the grid operator 30 minutes in advance. 18/33 18/1
