3 Y.CUBE CONTAINERISED ENERGY STORAGE The Y.Cube is an all-in-one system within a single enclosure that houses the Y.Converters, chosen DC battery blocks, HVAC and auxiliary components, with operation and performance managed by Y.Q, the Younicos software platform. Y.Q software platform Our intelligent software enables faster response times, response accuracy and real-time energy management to optimise battery performance. It determines automatically which function is most valuable according to the grid and market conditions and deploys real-time responses within 20 milliseconds. DC battery of your choice The Y.Cube accommodates multiple battery technologies so that you can choose the best chemistry for the required power/energy ratio. Battery enclosure Its economic footprint allows for space-saving and easy installation, even at the most remote project sites. Best-in-class converter technology The bidirectional Y.Converter with embedded Younicos controls allows direct communication between PCS and battery racks. This approach minimises usable capacity losses and mitigates fault current risk. Its superior grid-forming capabilities are key for weak grid environments. Thermal management system The Y.Cube manages battery rack cooling within more consistent limits, resulting in less parasitic loss and slower battery degradation. Fire suppression The fire suppression tank is filled with a clean agent, smoke detection units, dispersal nozzles, and a gas actuator. Modular enclosures provide increased segmentation of the system.

Battery storage smooths the PV plant and strengthens the grid by providing critical system services to buffer the impact of fluctuating power demand and supply. Dispatchable PV Large-scale PV plants receive lower payments for output during the sunniest hours. Y.Cube shifts PV generation into the evening peak and can also be dispatched to offset rapid output changes in PV generation caused by shading and add reliability to grid operations. Peak load reduction C&I customers, for example in California and New York, face increased charges for consumption during peak hours. Battery storage reduces peak demand and enables customers to optimise use of onsite solar and other energy management programs.
