2 Setting Standards UMMEL Located north of Freiburg, Germany, in the towns of Waldkirch and Denzlingen near the intersection of the French, German, and Swiss borders, UMMEL was established over sixty years ago. In 1948 Establishment of Anton ummel Metallwarenfabrik, a metal working factory, to produce turned metal components and assemblies for electrical, heating and sanitary installations. 167 Assembly Instructions Snapfram The slit fitting for moulded cable assemblies 1. Slide bushing (5) and O-ring (6) over cable assembly with moulded plug. 2. Pry the slit adapter (4) and slit clamping ring (3) open and slide over cable. 3. Peel off the multiperforated rings of the slit seal ring (2) until it matches the cable diameter. Slide over cable. 4. Fold the individual parts together and slide inside bushing (5). 5. Slide the slit jam nut (1) around the cable and finger tighten into bushing (5). 6. Push Snapfram into the panel hole and tighten the jam nut panel cabel assembly with moulded plug 167

168 Assembly Instructions SK-M-EMV Step 1 + Strip cable + Expose braided shield Step 2 + Feed cable through dome nut and clamping insert + Fold braided shield over clamping insert + Make sure that braided shield overlaps the O-Ring by 3/32 (2 mm) Step 3 + Push clamping insert into body and tighten dome nut + Assemble into housing + Finished! 168

169 Assembly Instructions SK-M-EMV-D Option 1 Feed-through of cable and shield (braided or foil) + Expose shield approximately 7/16 (10 mm) + Insert cable into fitting until the shield reaches the contact position + Tighten dome nut Option 2 Feed-through of shield (braided or foil) + Remove cable jacket to expose the shield as required + Insert cable into fitting until the shield reaches the contact position + Tighten dome nut Option 3 Termination of the braided shield in the fitting + Strip cable jacket and braided shield to different lengths + For small diameter cables fold the braided shield back over the cable jacket + Insert cable into fitting until the shield reaches the contact position + Tighten dome nut 169
