The Push-pull technology is patented and is the only one on the market offering High performance doors with the unique combination of total safety and selfreparability, wind resistance, high degree of insulation, speed and impressive reliability. Today, DYNACO proudly presents its new PUSH-PULL High Performance Door: the D-501 (Compact and Power version only)! This new door will be available as of January 2009 but can be ordered from now on! p 1

2 The D-501 is a worthy successor of the M2 series. The D-501 benefits from the latest technological developments as regards Push Pull. The main difference is situated in the retaining straps. A driving belt now replaces the small blocks that were screwed on a steel cable. p 2

3 The driving / reintroduction part also benefits from the latest technological evolutions in composite materials. Thanks to the research that was performed on the LF-system of the D-3xx series, the reintroduction part of the D-501 is now also equipped with bearings to smoothen the reintroduction after a possible collision and to limit damage to the retaining straps. The D-501 will at first be available in a Compact and a Power version for maximum dimensions up to 5500mm x 5500mm. p 3

4 What exactly has changed compared to the M2 doors? Driving belt The new driving belt is made out of polyurethane (PUR), reinforced with steel cables. Main advantages of this technology are : - Improved reliability - Comfort due to noise reduction - Better roll-up - Improved look & feel due to a more industrialised component This belt is synchronous at both sides, meaning the teeth are identical on both sides. These teeth interconnect while rolling up, thus assuring a tight curtain when the door is open. The belt is also used with the DLFS-407 grease with all benefits resulting from it. p 4

5 Driving kit The new gearwheel is made out of a specific composite material and counts 27 teeth. The gearwheel is in line with the new driving belt and produces little noise during operation of the door. The gearwheel is now installed very near to the driving drum, thus avoiding the door curtain touching the end of the drum. This way, the risk of damage caused by possible sharp edges of the drum is highly reduced. The gearwheel fits into a new driving kit made in 1 piece. This new driving kit is also made out of specific composite material and provided with the latest LF technology. Thus, the kit provides bearings that assure a better reintroduction of the door curtain in case of collision. p 5

6 Structure There also is a new design for counterweight cover, that serves as a door post cover for the counterweight side as well. All D-501 doors will standard be provided with door post covers. The springs and spacers that pass the door posts are provided with a washer in synthetic material. This way, the sound of metal parts rubbing against each other is avoided and the door operates in a more silent way. p 6

8 What options are not possible (yet)? Some options are not possible (yet) on the D-501 doors. A short survey: - Option stainless steel (Fa1 and Fa2) - Option reduced lintel (Fi12) - Option ATEX (Fj19) - Freezer version - Emergency version We refer to the new price lists for a complete list of available options. Pricing The prices are available on DYNACO Online. On average, the D-501 will be about 10% more expensive than the M2 equivalent. 9 Q&A When will the D-501 be available on the Online Spare Parts system? From January Does the D-501 replace the M2? The D-501 is an evolution of the M2. Eventually, she will replace the M2. But as the M2 is a door with an excellent reputation, DYNACO doesn t want to replace the M2 just like that. We want to make sure that the D-501 is even better than the M2 before replacing a model that works well. Can M2 doors be upgraded to D-501 as D-311 can be upgraded to D-311-LF? No. M2 and D-501 are too different. The interventions that would be necessary for an upgrade are too complicated to economically justify it. Why is the D-501 more expensive than the M2? For several reasons. First of all, the D-501 has required an important investment in injection and extrusion technologies. These technologies were necessary to develop the driving kit and the retaining strap. Secondly, the D-501 has been developed to be a better door that the M2. There is a difference in comfort of use and durability of the door (straps have a longer live cycle). These advantages justify the price difference compared to the M2. Which are the target customers? The target customers are the same as for the M2. However, we strongly recommend to present the D-501 to your customers having over 12 years old Compact or Power M2 doors. These customers know the advantages of the M2 and will certainly appreciate the evolutions brought by the D-501. Why the transfer to ERP (European Recommended Price)? The door was transferred to the ERP-prices in order to unify our ERP price politics started with the launch of the D-311. p 9

10 Why no Freezer or Emergency door? An Emergency and Freezer version of the D-501 will be developed in future. To make sure to have results that can meet the expectations, we want to intensify the tests on the D-501 Emergency and Freezer before launching these types. We can study the possibility of a D-501 Freezer or Emergency, but as an SPO-request. Some elements of the D-501 show an advantage over the M2 (such as the counterweight cover, the new washers ); are they available for M2 as retrofit? No, they re not. Is the control box the same as on the M2? Yes. The D-501 is available both with Dynalogic II as Dynalogic III. Why is there no All Weather version of the D-501 yet? The driving strap being different, the All Weather M2 and the D-501 All Weather will not have the same reinforcement at the side guides. The All Weather reinforcements for the D-501 are still under development and study. Will there be an M3 version of the D-501? Yes. This is still under development. The driving kit of the D-501 being new, it takes a longer development to put it onto springs than for a width inferior to 5m50. p 10
