But, it also trades in that massive powertrain for something just a bit greener. A Powertrain Built for Efficiency Instead of that gigantic V8 engine found in the Titan family, the Nissan Frontier comes equipped with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine capable of generating 152 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. Several efficiency-minded enhancements have been added, including: Variable Valve Timing Control system Inductive Control System Drive-by-Wire Electronic Throttle We get it. Those enhancements probably sound a little fancy and complicated. But in layman s terms, it translates to simplicity. The idea with all of these is to streamline intake and exhaust, increasing your vehicle response and fuel management. Thanks to such enhancements, your truck is still able to maintain 23 highway MPG and 17 city MPG. 2 Boost Your Safety with These Towing Add-Ons There are certain features found across all three of these trucks that can really add control and safety to your drive. Vehicle Dynamics Control and Hill Start Assist, for example, are necessities when hauling cargo. However, there are even more helpful features available in your Nissan truck to maximize your protection while towing. Hill Descent Control: No matter what, your truck is likely going to come with some assistance getting up the hill. But what happens when you come back down?
