2 The 48 series of replaceable filter core driers is suited to liquid and suction line applications in a range of K-LINE VS Replaceable Core Filter Driers connection sizes from 5 /8 to 3 1 /8. Manufactured in the United Kingdom in the Virginia KMP ISO 9001 facility, the VS series are UL listed and manufactured in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive and marked CE where necessary.

The stainless steel mesh contained within PA6 nylon screwed end fittings connects to the PA6 nylon top and bottom core retaining scrapers. The use of the tight fitting scrapers ensures that removal of the core assembly is a clean process, allowing no particles or core material to enter the system. In multi-core applications, where space is limited, the filter modules can be unscrewed one by one, and individual cores removed singly. Three flange options are available : a). Blank, b). With a 1 /4 NPT access point, c). With a 1 /4 male flare Schrader access fitting. Suction Line Applications The conical filter column, used in conjunction with the VS32H core, or polyester felt filter, offers the ideal low pressure drop solution for the ultimate protection of larger compressors. Within a multi-core shell, a single conical filter can be used on the outlet, in conjunction with standard cylindrical filters. The conical filter assembly can also be purchased as an accessory for retro-fitting, where pressure drop has proved to be a problem. 5 Steel Connectors Standard steel connectors are suitable for welding or brazing and available in sizes from 5 /8 to 3 1 /8. The steel is unplated. The steel connector option, containing no copper or brass parts is suitable for NH3 systems in liquid line situations. Copper Connectors Available as an option in sizes from 5 /8 to 2 1 /8, these copper connectors are convenient for field installation. Counter Flange The sealing flange is nickel plated to 25 micron, offering protection to 750 hours salt spray. Fixing bolts are stainless steel. The sealing gasket is fully compatible with all CFC, HCFC, HFC, HC and Ammonia refrigerants and lubricants. Paint Finish Epoxy powder blue, giving protection to 750 hours salt spray. Pressure Equipment Directive Virginia KMP has issued a Declaration of Conformity under the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC for the VS range of replaceable core driers. All models are marked CE.
