4 Kestrel Aluminium Systems Thermal Sliding Folding Door System Thermal Sliding Folding Door System Product Specification Product Description The Kestrel Thermal Sliding Folding Door System is designed for residential and light commercial use. The suite of profiles will allow construction of the most common types of odd leaf door types.the system is internally beaded as default. Externally beaded door leafs could be constructed if required by simply reversing the stiles/rails. The system is designed generally in accordance with BS 4873: 2004 and uses 14mm, 24mm and 30mm PA66 GF25 polymide thermal break. Polyamide thermal break allows for single or dual colour options Please note dual colour choice will incur additional cost/time surcharges Frame profiles are typically mm deep, with an 86mm handed jamb section (to accept KAS60 rebates at head and cill. Square or bevel beads are standard. A range of cill sections and couplers compliment the range. KAS743 & KAS744 adjustable jamb profiles included. Materials: Aluminium profiles are extruded from alloy 6060/6063 T6 complying with the recommendations of BS EN :2008 Finishes: Mill finish Etched and anodised to BS 3987: 1991 ( ) - Silver AA25 or colours on request. Polyester Powder coat paint to BS EN :2004. See separate list for standard colour range available. 5 Kestrel Aluminium Systems Thermal Sliding Folding Door System Thermal Sliding Folding Door System Product Specification Construction: Outer frames are square cut with jambs typically running through. Head and cill/track sections are secured between jambs by driving self tapping stainless steel screws into integral screw ports. All joints to be sealed against the entry of water. Door leaf joints are mitre cut, sealed and jointed using aluminium EN16 AC-46100D die cast mechanical corner cleats and aluminium UNI 5076 die cast mechanical corner chevrons. Hardware: The bottom rollers, standard and D handle hinges and top guides are all bespoke to Kestrel Aluminium Systems Limited. The bottom roller uses acetal co-polymer wheels for quiet, smooth and long lasting performance within the aluminium track section. Roller centre guide positions are specific to each track type. Slave leafs are locked by a gear driven shoot bolt throwing 20mm into the head and cill track sections - operated by a locking shallow fitting handle. Master door leaf locking is with a 2 hook dead latch and bolt and lever/lever handle set with adjustable steel keep set. 100mm europrofile cylinders operate the dead latch. Glass, Glazing and Infill Panels: The system is designed to accept, 24mm or 28mm thick (DG) IGU's or infill panels. Glazing to be carried out in strict accordance with BS 6262 Performance: Thermal Doors constructed with thermally broken profiles meet current Building Regulation Approved Document (AD) L1A, L1B/L2A, L2B requirements using a range of IGU's (Insulating Glass Units) See following sheets for thermal data and Therm software images and frame U-values etc. SAP 2009 Table 6e can also be used in the absence of test data or calculated values. Overall U-Values can be altered by changing the IGU specification from the 1.3 W/m2K value used to achieve 1.8 W/m2K as above. Edgetech triseal warm edge spacer bar used in IGU, other warm edge spacer bars can be used that offer an equivalent linear thermal transmittance or better. The centre pane figure can be checked using Pilkington Spectrum V3.1.1 software or similar software offered and verified by other reputable flat glass suppliers.
