1 The San Diego Corvair Club Monthly Newsletter July 2013 CORSA Chapter 921 Vol. 39, No. 7 Two Events ~ Same Day Different Places Two events on the same at opposite ends of the county (well one in Orange county the other in La Mesa). Four of us, Michael House, Bruce Kosak, Jim Stansbury and I chose to go to Jeff Williams place up in Chino, four others went to Bob Stahl s Chevrolet in La Mesa for his Grand Re-opening, with a car show put on by the Corvette club that meets there. You get pictures from California Corvairs since I haven t got the ones taken at Bob Stahl s. But we do know that Cal Williams 63 convertible, Bob Bacchi s 66 convertible and Jim Horscher s 65 coupe received some awards from the Vette member judges. At Jeff s, I counted 40 Corvairs, about the same as last year, but not necessarily the (Continued on page 4)

3 General Meeting Minutes for June 13, 2013 Meeting called to order at 7:10 pm by President Mike Evans. 16 members (including a new member) present and 4 Corvairs, VP Scott Szalkowski on vacation OLD BUSINESS May meeting minutes approved as reported in the Vairmail. Treasurer Report: David Kerth Balance as of May 31, $4, Membership: Red Badgett; 108 Activities: Mike Evans reported on May Cruise Nite in El Cajon Four members, Jim Horscher, Cal Williamson, Paul Kehler and Bob Bacchi showed up at the grand re-opening of Bob Stahl Chevrolet and Corvette club car show in La Mesa. All three Corvairs in attendance won a prize ~ and that was with the Vette guys doing the judging. Maybe because it s air-conditioned in his showroom or whatever, he had quite a crowd in there looking at all his parts ~ kept him in there most of the day. Hope he made enough to cover some of the refreshments, of which he wasn t short of. And he also had some pick your part customers out in the bone yard gleaning stuff from at least one Rampside and van. This is a good venue to greet old friends and meet other clubs members. It s a bit of a drive, but I think it s worth the hour or so.
