1 Jeep wcm bypass Well, another year, another major problem with the Pat. I should have traded the damn thing in last year once I got the last round of problems finally fixed. As sugg'd by others, I disconctd battery for a time didnt cure. Track this discussion and me when there are updates. thanks for taking the time to post. it worked. Based on the TSB, they quoted me over the phone $130 for the part and another $150 for labor, but who knows what other "problems" they're going to find along the way. Similar thing happened to me this morning tried to unlock the driver's side door using the remote entry key fob. Nothing happened so unlocked the door using the key. Once inside, the interior door unlock switch didn't work nor did the window switches. Read in the blogs about possible resolutions. Went with the simplist first. Disconnected the negative battery cable for 30 seconds and then reconnected. All problems fixed. At least in this case, it appears that the electrical problems were related to the PCI Bus. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery seemed to act like rebooting a home computer cleared the problems and now good to go. If anyone is having similar problems, I suggest trying this super simple fix first before doing complicated testing or parts replacements. Door control panel inop all functions do not work - windows (all doors) dont work, mirror control dsnt work, seat position dsnt work, door lock dsnt work. Same here as bruce except i spliced into the wire right at the tipm. Hopefully diconnecting the cable will fix your problem but I found it to be a temporary fix for me. Keep me posted about this. Exact same issue for me so i installed a push button start, thats still requires key in ignition to bypass while i take my time to figure out the exact issue. That black relay box you mentioned. I checked mine too, was slightly corroded cleaned it up and a few other wires and then it showed the code I mentioned. But none of mine were broken. Cost: $750 Tried: new battery, unplugging PCM computer, checked all fuses. And the alternator checked out all right. driving to go shopping, my "driver door open" alert came on along with the interior light. Of course..opened and closed the driver door while in transit, the light went off...but the alert and light came back on a few minutes later! pulled into the shopping parking lot, I opened and closed the driver door a few times. discovered the problem was intermittent. diagnosis, loose or broken wire at the driver door. When I got home i looked for the trouble in the likeliest place...the rubber flex boot between the driver door and the car body. Pulled back the flex boot with a little effort and saw a previous repair connection on the heavy bue wire! aha moment! someone had this p[roblem before! (previous owner) pulled on this wire and out it came. caught the other end hanging in mid air. I "Soldered" these wires back! the small wire nuts that were holding it together were loose. turned on the jeep and tried the window buttons..nothing! looked further into the flex boot the heavy Orange/White wire was severed! Your info is still helping others after nearly 2 yrs - THANK YOU! On 7/27/11 I had my driver side window controls go out, but the front passenger window control worked just fine. All others, not operational. Disconnected the negative terminal and removed some minor corrosion, then secured back in place. All windows now work as expected once again.. Will do. I may have to try to manually crank the starter. The first time I popped the clutch from a roll and it started, but this last time it didn't work and my Pat ended up at the bottom of our hill and I had to use the wife's CRV to pull it back up to the house:lol: Maybe I didn't get a fast enough roll that time or something. Ugh. I've moved the shifter to different positions. Removed the negative terminal, then put it back on. The problem is the tipm is not sending power to the fuel pump I had to a by pass connection from the m7 to m25 and after doing the by pass connection I could actually hear the fuel pump turning on and it started right up,check the fuse number m25 with a indicator to see if is getting power if it doesn't you will need to do a by pass connection it only cost me about $10. I went to unlock it the other night and it wouldn't do anything. I used the key of course and set the alarm off for 15 minutes and everything on dash lit up, but sit wouldn't start. I tried the key in the gate trick, but no luck. I had to call tow truck to take to the dealer, waiting on word how much this is going to drain pocket book! This isn't the only problem I've had with this jeep. Gas spews out when I fill the tank, radio goes off if I roll both windows up at the same time, airbag light comes on for no apparent reason for a few days then goes off, same with passenger seatbelt light when nothing is in the seat, so I have to buckle it to shut it up! Love my jeep, but not sure I would buy another. I also have problems with 4wheel drive shifter breaking with each use, can't afford to keep putting it in the shop! If you can help me with any of these issues please let me know. My Jeep 2011 wont start the wireless control module is gone cost bucks.the dealership tells me afther market remote starter burned it out.they wanted to disconnect it or replace it with a factory unit i said no. Well it seems many people are having this problem period.i have owned this jeep for 2 months and think this is crap the part is faulty. After running the car, I park it, five minutes later engine didn't turn on. Went out one evening to start my 2010 Jeep Patriot, key turned over, engine tried to crank then shut down after 2 seconds. Tried again, same thing, then it just went to blank. Dials and gauges work, including the warning light for "it's an electrical issue". Replaced battery in Sentry remote key fob, no difference. Doors and all options work, I.E. Wipers, lights, door entry, etc.researched and found out its the Wireless Control Module, based on description of issue. Called dealer about the issue along with the Chrysler Corp. Bottom line is, Bring it in, open up your wallet and we'll let you know when we're through draining it. I'm a disabled senior, that has a very limited income, with many doctor appointments. I don't have the revenue to afford these expensive repairs, the dealer doesn't care, Corporate headquarters doesn't care. I bought the vehicle because I thought Jeeps longevity was reputable. Now it seems they are just another greedy Corporation, only after the money. Sad to see that Customer Service, means nothing to them. 5 would like to hear from any other owners that have had similar problems with their Jeeps. Also if anyone else is on the national back order for this part. Jeep does not start do to WCM. Had to have the jeep towed to dealer and was told to would cost around 375 to fix. The vehicle is only 25 months old.
