1 ASSEMBLY MANUAL CM APPROXIMATE CM ASSEMBLY TIME INSTRUCTIONS 1HR WA R N I N G Appropriate assembly methods and procedures are essential for the safe, reliable operation of all equipment as well as the personal safety of the individual doing the work. This Assembly Manual provides general directions for accomplishing assembly with tasted, effective techniques. Following these directions will help assure reliability. These are numerous variations in procedures, techniques for assembling equipment, tools, as well as in the skill of the individual doing the work. This Manual cannot possibly anticipate all such variations and provide advice or cautions as to each. Accordingly, anyone who departs from the instructions provided in this Manual must first establish that he does not compromise his personal safety by his choice of methods or tools. General safety precautions should include being sure that major components are well supported during assembly, wearing safety glasses, using the proper tools, using a brass drift and/or brass hammer for driving pins and being sure that the equipment is lowered to the ground or is securely supported during lubrication. For more specific safety precautions refer to the service manual. 1

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS The CM Tractor is shipped partially disassembled in crate. This manual provides the information needed to uncrate and assemble the CM Front Mower.

2 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS The CM Tractor is shipped partially disassembled in crate. This manual provides the information needed to uncrate and assemble the CM Front Mower. Removing the Out Front Mower from the crate Tire Installation (1) Cut all the packing bands and remove the top and side of the crate. (2) Remove the straps Front axle clamps + rear wire retainers (A).

4 Removing the Out Front Mower from the crate Tire Installation (1) Cut all the packing bands and remove the top and side of the crate. (2) Remove the straps Front axle clamps + rear wire retainers (A). (3) Remove band straps from upper ROPS frame. (3) Hook up the over head lift (B) in the hole on the lower frame of ROPS (4) Lift the tractor for installing of tires and move the base of the crate away. (5) Remove band straps + lift steering wheel and parts box. (1) Check the tire pressure according to chart below. MAX Inflation Pressure Front tire 1.6bar 23.2psi Rear tire 1.6bar 23.2psi (2) Install wheels onto the CM Front Mower. (3) Tighten and torque the wheels to the following specs. Front wheel 132±16N m Rear wheel 50±5.9N ｍ Figure 3 WARNING To avoid injury lift the CM Front Mower high enough to remove the crate base from underneath the Front Mowers. 4

5 ROPS Installation Steering Wheel Installation (1) Fit upper frame to lower frame ⑦ with bolt and nut.(put tether ⑥ through to the bolt as shown below.) (2) Insert pin ④. (3) Tighten the nut. * Torque: N.m (68-82ft-1bs) (4) Put ring ⑤ through to tether ⑥ and Pin ④. (1) Remove M8 + M14 nuts and spring washer from steering shaft. (2) Fit steering wheel with nut (M14) and spring washer ④. (3) Fit steering wheel cap with M8 nuts ⑤ & (counterclockwise). NOTE; 1-2mm clearance must be achieved between steering wheel and underside of locking cap ⑥ when column is in locked position. Adjust nut ⑤ to achieve clearance Nut and top of the shaft is flattened. (4) Fit SHIBAURA logo to steering wheel center. 6 Fender installation Before Operation (1) Remove the bolt from the left side panel. (2) Install the left fender and the fender support using the retaining bolt and the two retaining bolts ④ with two nuts (not shown) (3) Install the right fender in the same procedure. (1) Before operating the Front Mower, check the following fluid levels and add per specification in the Operator s Manual, as needed. Engine oil 10W30 Transmission oil Hydraulic oil Fuel DIESEL#2 Engine Coolant (50/50 glycol/water mixture) Rear axle oil Hydraulic oil (2) Connect battery ground cable. (3) Neutral start switch interlocks. Check operation of switch interlocks on initial startup. SWITCH OPERATION Seat Operator presence required engine starter PTO Disengage Start Engage No Start HST Pedal Neutral Start Forward No Start Rearward No Start Brake Pedal Engage or Parking Brake ON Start Brake Pedal Released & Parking Brake OFF No Start Figure6 and 7 To avoid injury never attempt to start the engine while standing beside the Out Front Mower. Always sit in the seat when starting the engine. 6

7 INPORTANT Don t engine the starting motor continuously for more than 30 seconds, doing so may cause starting motor failure. If engine fails to start easily refer to Operator manual on engine fuel section. Inspect all operating and safety instruction decals If any missing, damaged or for any reason illegible replace with new decals as shown in Operator s Manual. Check warning lights for proper operation. Read the operator manual before operation. 7
