3 Date: 02/13/2015 Page: 3 of 10 Lug Ring Installation Instructions: 1. Remove OEM threaded ring, cap, and OEM plug handle. 2. Clean face of module to remove any foreign particles and/or debris. 3. Install lug ring assembly (Item 3) over the studs (Item 10) ensuring the eye bolt (Item 8) is facing forward. (Note: If a lift is utilized attached to the locking ring (Item 1) handle, it is important to leave stop locator (Item 4) installed into the lug ring assembly (Item 3) to ensure components do not rotate out of the locked position. 4. Torque 1 ½-6 nuts (Item 11): 900 ft-lb (max, lubricated) 5. Install adapter plate (Item 13) and install new handle (Item 12) using OEM Valve Plug (Item 14). Note, for retrofit applications & valve covers built prior to June 2009, use assembly P/N: , which provides a reduce diameter valve cover. If plug (Item 14) was removed, lubricate and replace with new seal (Item 15). Next insert locking ring assembly (Items: 1, 2, 5, 6 & 7). NOTE: THE LUGS ON ITEM 2 AND 3 DO NOT NEED TO BE LUBRICATED. Align lugs on lug adapter (Item 2) to opening in lug ring (Item 3). Lower locking ring assembly to engage all of the lugs. 6. Using handle on locking ring (Item 1), turn clockwise until lug adapter (Item 2) stops turning and all lugs are fully engaged. Continue turning until bottom face of locking ring (Item 1) contacts plug (Item 14). (Note: No more than one and a half complete rotations are required.) Insert stop locator (Item 4) into the opening between the lug adapter (Item 2) and lug ring (Item 3). 7. Apply torque to the locking ring (Item 1) using the Torque Pro Wrench (Item 17). For additional details please see the Installation and Operating Instructions.

Next place Torque Pro Wrench over locking ring assembly (see View 1), using Torque Pro as a hand wrench, continue tightening until all thread slack is removed.

After installing all components, turn locking ring assembly clockwise until hand-tight. Ensure the locking ring s lugs are all fully engaged; insert stop locator (see View 1). Next place Torque Pro Wrench over locking ring assembly (see View 1), using Torque Pro as a hand wrench, continue tightening until all thread slack is removed. When fully hand tightened, position Torque Pro Wrench as shown (see View 1). 2. Attach hydraulic pump to wrench s quick connection fitting, and apply 5,000 psi. Note: Ensure the cylinder does not reach end of stroke (see View 2). Release hydraulic pump pressure to retract torque pro cylinder. If end of stroke was reached, relocate Torque Pro Wrench (see View 1) and repeat as necessary until fully pressurized.

After hydraulic pressure falls, continue turning the Torque Pro Wrench counterclockwise by hand a maximum of one complete turn, and then remove Torque Pro Wrench. 4.

Ensure stop locator is installed; utilizing procedure as described in Note 2, except apply hydraulic pressure as necessary up to a maximum of 10,000 psi. After hydraulic pressure falls, continue turning the Torque Pro Wrench counterclockwise by hand a maximum of one complete turn, and then remove Torque Pro Wrench. 4. Remove stop locator, and then turn locking ring assembly counter clockwise until lugs are free. Remove locking ring assembly by lifting out of lug ring assembly (Item 3). Note: When installing and or removing discharge valve covers leave locking ring in place until all 3 have been loosened as this will allow a Torque Pro Wrench reaction point (see View 4).

6 Date: 02/13/2015 Page: 6 of 10 Special Instructions: Taper Seal Conversion kit only (Due to increased load from Taper Seal Conversion kit) Dye Penetrant Inspection View 5 1. The module s tapered seal conversion kit increases the load for the plug and all other related components by approximately 30%, due to the increased plug seal diameter. This increased load reduces the fatigue life of these components, particularly for suction components. 2. Recommend (at a minimum) completing a visual inspection when changing valves and seats, also an annual dye penetrant inspection on the lugs and face areas on item 3 (lug ring assembly) and item 2 (lug adapter). Components must be replaced if linear indications are present. 3. For applications with continued use at or near maximum pressure, recommend replacing all Torque Pro components and fasteners after a maximum 5 years of use.

7 Date: 02/13/2015 Page: 7 of The parts that comprise the Torque Pro System are expendable parts and will eventually have to be replaced. Due to the cyclical nature of forces in the suction module, it is more apparent in the parts used therein. 5. A tapered seal conversion kit should never be used on new modules. The valve cover conversion kit exists to prolong the life of a module after a washout occurred without the need to immediately replace a module and should only be a temporary solution.

If the Torque Pro System is purchased to upgrade a current OEM valve cover system, attention has to be paid to item 14 shown above. If the valve cover (item 14) shown in View 6, has a recessed bore at the top, item 13A (Part Number R) will have to be included. This is to keep item 13 to eventually crack from fatigue. Although this problem has been resolved in the new valve cover, item 14 as shown page 2, there are still existing valve covers in the field that have the recess; which is not an issue with the OEM fast change valve covers.
