12 DISTRIBUTED BY Techni-flow PERISTALTIC PUMPS PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION The principle of operation of the peristaltic pump is attractive because of its simplicity and its benefits. A tube with precise dimensions, made from different types of elastomer or thermoplastic, is housed in the pump body. After being compressed by the action of the pad or roller attached to the rotor, the tube recovers its original shape and creates a phenomenon which will empty the suction of the liquid. The liquid is then in the space between the two rollers and is gently pushed to the opposite side to the suction. That is why this displacement pump has many advantages.
