2 IMPORTANT NOTICE IMPORTANT NOTICE This bulletin must be used in conjunction with the predelivery check list enclosed in the bag with the OPERATOR S GUIDE. Make sure that PREDELIVERY CHECK LIST is completed and signed. WARNING To obtain limited warranty coverage, predelivery procedures must be performed by an authorized BRP Ski-Doo snowmobile dealer/distributor. Apply all necessary torques as indicated. NOTE: The information and components/system descriptions contained in this document are correct at the time of publication. Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) however, maintains a policy of continuous improvement of its products without imposing upon itself any obligation to install them on products previously manufactured. Due to late changes, there might be some differences between the manufactured product and the descriptions and/or specifications in this document. The illustrations in this document show the typical construction of the different assemblies and may not reproduce the full detail or exact shape of the parts. All mechanics performing predelivery procedures should have attended the current model year service training. Further information or inquiries should be directed to your distributor service representative and/or specific SHOP MANUAL sections. Please complete the PREDELIVERY CHECK LIST for each snowmobile and retain a customer signed copy. Make sure the customer receives the OPERATOR S GUIDE, PREDELIVERY CHECK LIST signed copy and SAFETY DVD. There is a tag attached to the ignition key, only the customer must remove it. This label will remind the customer to ask dealer/distributor to perform suspension adjustments according to riding style and vehicle load. WARNING Torque wrench tightening specifications must strictly be adhered to. Where specified, install new locking devices (e.g. lock tabs, elastic stop nuts). If the efficiency of a locking device is impaired, it must be renewed. 2 / PREDELIVERY

3 UNCRATING UNCRATING Procedure. Carefully lay the crate on its bottom. NOTICE Allowing the crate to drop may cause serious damage to the vehicle. 2. Using a drill or a screwdriver, remove all screws retaining crate cover to crate base. NOTE: Screws that are used are Robertson #2 type that require the use of an appropriate bit (Scrulox #2 from Snap-on Tools or ECAR. from Facom Tools). 3. Tilt the crate cover toward the front or the rear of the vehicle. NOTE: There is a notch at the front of the crate that indicates the front of the vehicle. 9. Detach the ski legs from the crate base. 0. Discard screws.. Remove the rear retaining strap (if applicable). 2 3 A00A2F6. Screws 2. Front of the vehicle 3. Tilt 4. Lift the crate cover slowly to avoid damaging the vehicle. 5. Remove anticorrosive / protective plastic, predelivery kit and parts to be installed from part box or from under the seat compartment according to the model. 6. Detach skis from crate base. 7. Discard screws and washers. 8. If applicable, detach windshield from seat. NOTICE Make sure vehicle is properly supported before removing ski legs and rear suspension from crate brackets. A29F66 TYPICAL - REAR RETAINING STRAP 2. Remove retaining screws/plates from rear axle (screws will be reused). 3. Cut locking tie retaining hook. 4 SET-UP A06F2Q6 4. Ask other persons to apply a downward pressure on rear suspension. 5. Remove hook from suspension. WARNING Before removing hook always verify that vehicle is properly supported and that parking brake is applied. NOTICE Hook must be removed to have snowmobile suspension operational. 6. Remove the vehicle from the crate base. SET-UP Battery Charging and Installation All electric starting equipped vehicles using a YTX20L-BS or YTX24HL type battery require a specific charging procedure at predelivery. WARNING Always wear safety glasses and charge in a ventilated area. Never charge or boost battery while installed on vehicle. Do not open the sealed caps during charging. Do not place battery near open flame. Battery Removal SWT V-800 Model Battery is located under the seat.. Unhook battery cover from its support. 2. Open battery cover. mbl _a TYPICAL. Battery cover 2. Opened battery cover 3. Remove battery. WT 550F Model. Remove air intake silencer. 2. Unhook the battery strap or undo steel strips nut and screw holding battery. 3. Remove the battery. Battery Activation and Charging Refer to the latest edition of SKI-DOO BATTERIES ACTIVATION, CHARGING AND MAINTENANCE service bulletin for procedures. Battery Installation. Properly position the battery on its rack. WARNING Always connect the battery cables exactly in the specified order. Connect RED ( + ) cable first, then BLACK ( ) ground cable. 2. Connect RED ( + ) cable to battery positive post. 3. Connect BLACK ( ) cable to battery negative post. NOTE: Place the BLACK ( ) cable under the battery strap. 4. Apply DIELECTRIC GREASE (P/N ) on battery posts. 5. Cover the RED ( + ) connection with rubber boot. 6. Close battery cover (if applicable) 4 / PREDELIVERY

5 SET-UP 7. Secure battery with steel strips or rubber strap. 8. Reinstall previously removed parts if applicable. Shock Absorber Installation (Rear Suspension). Secure front arm upper axle of rear suspension using two M0 x 30 screws in plastic bag under the seat. NOTE: Apply LOCTITE 243 (BLUE) (P/N ) on threads. 5. Torque screws to 58 N m (43 lbf ft). WT 550F Model If snowmobile is intended to be used with the driver alone, use the upper holes. If snowmobile is intended to be used carrying a passenger or load in the rear rack, use the lower holes. 6. Apply LOCTITE 243 (BLUE) (P/N ) on threads. 7. Torque screws to 58 N m (43 lbf ft). NOTE: Also, 4 horse shoe type washers are included in the predelivery kit. They are used to adjust rear suspension for trail riding according to the load (refer to the appropriate SHOP MANUAL for proper procedure). Keep any unused washers for further use.. M0 x 30 screws NOTE: Use a tie-down between the front arm and spring axle to ease the installation of the front arm screws. TIE DOWN 2. Torque screws to 58 N m (43 lbf ft). 3. Secure rear arm using previously removed screws. 4. Apply LOCTITE 243 (BLUE) (P/N ) on threads. A29F03B. Place horseshoe washer(s) behind rubber stoppers For deep snow riding, do not instal any washer. For trail riding with a passenger and / or load, install washer under both rubber stoppers. For trail riding with a heavy load and / or when towing a load, use 2 washers under both rubber stoppers. Shock Absorber Installation (Front Suspension) SWT V800 Model. Open and secure the hood. 2. Spread bottom plastic to remove long bolts and install back the bottom plastic. Loctite is a registered trademark of Henkel Corp. PREDELIVERY / 9

6 SET-UP mbl _a TYPICAL. Bottom pan support bracket mbl _a 2. Hood wire screw 3. Install 2 plastic bushings into shock absorber eyelets. Ski Installation. Install stopper on the skis with the highest portion toward front.. Plastic bushings 4. Stretch shock absorber to its maximum. 5. Slide shock absorber into bottom of ski leg until shock rod goes through cap hole. 6. Loosely install conical spring washer, concave surface inside, and M0 nut on the shock rod, keeping at least /4 in (5 mm) of free play. NOTE: Ensure to install the left and right bottom pan support bracket, see illustration. A29GGA. Stopper 2. On some models, a support plate should be installed as per photo. 3. Install a washer on each side of ski leg. A29GD6 FRONT OF THE VEHICLE 6 / PREDELIVERY

7 SET-UP 4. Torque ski leg nuts to 45 N m (33 lbf ft). 5. Torque shock rod top nuts to 30 N m (22 lbf ft). 6. Check toe-out (0 mm (25/64 in)). Handlebar Adjustment SWT V800 Model. Adjust handlebar to obtain an equal gap on each side of both clamps. NOTE: Use handlebar wire hole as a guide to center it. 2. Secure temporarily with: 2 hexagonal bolts (predelivery kit) 2 elastic nuts (predelivery kit) A29GB6. Extension 2. Clamps 3. Hexagonal bolts 4. Elastic nuts A29G0Q6 TYPICAL 2. Adjust handlebar height. Master cylinder brake fluid reservoir must be level. NOTICE Ensure wires run freely and are not caught in clamps. 3. Torque clamps nuts to 24 N m (8 lbf ft). SWT V-800 with Riser Block Notice the fuel vent hose positioning. 3. Adjust handlebar and set both clamps to have an equal gap on each side. NOTE: Use handlebar wire hole as a guide to center it. 4. Master cylinder brake fluid reservoir must be level. 5. Tighten to 24 N m (8 lbf ft). Steering Cover Installation. Properly position foam in place. A29F56 mbl _a TYPICAL - FUEL VENT HOSE NOTE: Steering foam can be secured in place with adevicesuchasfilamenttapetoeasetheinstallation. 2. Fit steering padding and securewith the zippers.. Assemble handlebar with extension and clamps on steering column. PREDELIVERY / 9

8 SET-UP 3 2 A03G0X mbl TYPICAL Holding Strap Installation. Cut locking tie retaining right side strap end. A29G46 TYPICAL 2. If applicable, insert strap through holes provided in steering padding. 3. Secure right side strap end with retaining clip. 4. Tighten firmly using: Hexagonal bolts Nuts Flat washers Flat washers (spacer).. Hexagonal bolts 2. Flat washer 3. Retaining clip 4. Spacer 5. Flat washer 6. Nuts 5. Torque to N m (97 lbf in). NOTE: A wire route along handlebar. To avoid pinching it, make sure to keep wire out of retaining clip. Windshield Installation. Remove headlight molding. 2. Remove the headlight protector from hood. 3. Unclip the inner protector from the headlight protector. 4. Remove protective films from the windshield. 5. Insert tabs of headlight protector in windshield square holes. 6. Clip the inner protector in place. 2 3 A32H2M6. Headlight protector 2. Inner protector 3. Protective film WT 550F Model NOTE: Take care to slide the windshield support underneath the air intake dashboard cover. 8 / PREDELIVERY

9 SET-UP mbl A29HE6 7. Add foam. Backrest Installation. Install the backrest in its proper position and screw the knob to secure it. A29HF6 All Models 8. Secure windshield assembly to hood using latches from predelivery kit. mbl Snow Guard Installation. Install snow guard with extra plastic support (in luggage compartment if applicable) using rivets supplied in its packaging. A32H2K6. Latches 9. Remove the part between mirror housing and adapter mm (4 in) up from the hood corner, drill hole for fastening screw. 2. Snow guard 2. Extra plastic support PREDELIVERY / 9

10 FINAL PREPARATION FINAL PREPARATION B.U.D.S. Programming Connecting a PC to Vehicle. Connect the PC to vehicle. Refer to the latest B.U.D.S. BULLETIN. 2. Ensure that the status bar shows the proper protocol and the number 2 is displayed. 3. Press the Read Data button from the tool bar to initiate communication with the vehicle. Customer Name Programming SWT V800 Model. Click on the Vehicle tab to open the vehicle information page. A32AP6 2. Type the name of the customer in the Customer zone. NOTE: After you are finished typing the name, B.U.D.S. automatically updates the delivery date on the screen. Programming a DESS Key SWT V800 Model NOTE: The D.E.S.S. post interface must be used.. Read the content of the vehicle's MPEM by clicking on Read Data from the tool bar. A32AQ6 2. Click on the Keys tabtoopenthedesskeys page. 3. Click on Erase All Keys. 4. Click on Add Key. NOTE: A dialog box opens and asks you to insert a key on the MPI DESS post. 5. If the key that you inserted on the MPI DESS post was successfully read and saved in the computer, a message box will appear. 6. Click on OK. 7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 for each DESS key you want to program into the vehicle's MPEM. 8. Save the new data into the vehicle's MPEM by clicking on the Write Data button from the tool bar. 9. Remove the GREY key from the vehicle DESS. NOTE: If the B.U.D.S. system loses communication while connected, press the start/stop button or turn briefly the ignition switch to the START position to reactivate communication. Engine Oil Level (Four Stroke) ENGINE TYPE V800 OIL TYPE XPS Winter grade oil NOTICE If XPS Winter grade oil is not available, use SAE 0W 40 synthetic-based oil that meets or exceeds the requirements for API service classification SM, SL or SJ. Always check the API service label certification on the oil container, it must contain at least one of the above standards. This is the only recommended viscosity to ensure proper cold start and optimum engine protection at high RPM and temperature. 0 / PREDELIVERY

11 FINAL PREPARATION NOTICE Vehicle must be on a level surface before checking any fluid level.. Make sure engine is at operating temperature and snowmobile is on a level surface. 2. Leave engine running at idle for 30 seconds. 3. Stop the engine, remove and wipe the dipstick. 4. Reinsert, then remove dipstick. Read oil level. NOTE: Dipstick must be completely pushed in before checking oil level. NOTICE Never use 4-stroke petroleum or synthetic motor oil and never mix these with outboard motor oil. Do not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard 2-stroke engine oils or ashless 2-stroke engine oils. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reactions may cause severe engine damage.. Fill up the injection oil reservoir. Refer to the following chart for proper oil application. WARNING Wipe off any oil spills. Oil is highly flammable. mbl DIPSTICK Oil level must be between minimum and maximum marks on dipstick. Injection Oil Level (WT 550F Model) Adding Oil in Fuel (WT 550F Model) To assure additional protection during the initial engine break-in, 500 ml (7 U.S. oz) of recommended injection oil should be added to fuel for the first full filling of fuel tank. Always remove and clean spark plugs after engine break-in. Oil Injection Pump Bleeding (WT 550F Model). Remove muffler if needed. 2. Bleed main oil line (between tank and pump) by loosening the bleeder screw until all air has escaped from the line. NOTICE Use only oil that flows at - 40 C (- 40 F). ENGINE TYPE 550F OIL TYPE XPS TM mineral injection oil () () If XPS mineral injection oil is not available, API TC high-quality low ash 2-stroke injection oil may be used. XPS mineral injection oil is a special blend of basic oil and additives specially selected to ensure unequalled lubrication, engine cleanliness and minimum spark plug fouling. 2. Noairinmainline 2. Also check for proper oil lever adjustment; mark on lever must align with mark on pump body when throttle lever is activated just enough to take all cable free-play. PREDELIVERY 20-2 / 9

12 FINAL PREPARATION Brake Fluid Level. Check brake fluid in reservoir for proper level. mbl _a. Oil sight gauge Driven Pulley Adjustment. It is usual to experience spring settings during break-in period of a new spring. 2. The factory spring preload is slightly higher to compensate for springs settings. 3. Specifications are applicable after break-in period (about 0 hours of use). Speedometer These models are equipped with an electronic speedometer, it may show speed in km/h or MPH. 2. Add brake fluid (DOT 4) as required. WARNING Use only DOT 4 brake fluid from a sealed container. Never use any other types of fluid. Coolant Tank Level SWT V800 Model NOTICE Vehicle must be on a level surface before checking any fluid level.. Check coolant level in the overflow coolant tank. 2. When the engine is cold, the level must be between minimum and maximum marks. 3. Use BRP PREMIXED COOLANT (P/N ) or a blend of 50/50 distilled water and ethyleneglycol. NOTICE To prevent rust formation or freezing conditions, always use ethylene glycol antifreeze containing corrosion inhibitors specially recommended for aluminum engines. Always use 50% antifreeze and 50% water for this particular type of snowmobile. Track Adjustments. Refer to SHOP MANUAL and to SPECIFICA- TIONS section at the end of this bulletin to adjust track tension and alignment. BrakeDiskCleaning. Remove any rust built-up on braking surfaces. 2. Clean brake disk with XPS PARTS AND BRAKES CLEANER (P/N ). mbl NOTE: At the factory speedometer, odometer and trip meter is adjusted for miles reading. WT 550F Model Proceed as follow to change units from miles to kilometers.. Stop engine and open hood. 2. Remove latches retaining plastic cover. 3. Temporary reinstall the top two latches to retain windshield. 4. Plug connectors together to change units from miles to kilometers. 2 / PREDELIVERY

13 DELIVERY TO CUSTOMER A29E26 5. Unplug to return to miles reading. 6. Reinstall plastic cover. WT V800 Model Change units from miles to kilometers and vice versa using B.U.D.S. Select Setting and Cluster tabs. NOTE: At a speed of 90 km/h (55 MPH) and more, the LCD mode screen will show speed only instead of the selected mode. Vehicle Cleaning. Wash and dry the vehicle. NOTICE Never use a high pressure washer to clean the vehicle. The high pressure can cause electrical or mechanical damages. 2. Clean vinyl or plastic parts, using flannel clothes with XPS MULTI-PURPOSE CLEANER (P/N ). NOTICE It is necessary to use flannel clothes on plastic parts to avoid damaging surfaces. Never clean plastic parts with strong detergent, degreasing agent, paint thinner, acetone, products containing chlorine, etc. To clean the entire vehicle, including metallic parts use BRP HEAVY DUTY CLEANER (P/N ). DELIVERY TO CUSTOMER Rear Suspension Adjustments. Rear suspension is calibrated at factory. At predelivery, mechanics should perform suspension adjustmentsaccordingtocustomerridingstyle and vehicle load. Calibration Adjustments Riding at High Altitudes NOTE: If adjustments are required, refer to the HIGH ALTITUDE/SEA-LEVEL SPECIFICATIONS SERVICE BULLETIN. Further inquiries should be directed to your distributor service representative. Vehicles used at high altitudes; above 600 m (2000 ft), should be fitted with a high altitude calibration. NOTICE If not re calibrated for proper altitude use, poor performance may occur. Riding in Cold Weather WT 550F Model All vehicles have been calibrated for - 20 C (- 4 F). They can be operated at warmer winter temperatures without risk of problems. NOTICE For colder temperatures than - 20 C (- 4 F), carburetor(s) must be recalibrated to avoid engine damage. Vehicle Delivery. Complete the PREDELIVERY CHECK LIST. 2. Test run the vehicle. 3. Give OPERATOR S GUIDE and SAFETY DVD to customer. 4. The customer must read and sign the PREDELIVERY CHECK LIST.
