Following are step-by-step pack instructions how your products were packed. 1 st PadPak Package Design for Engine part ( 4 cylinders) Used your current box 1. Produce one pad of 0.50 m and place it at the bottom of the box.

2. Place the engine on top of the pad. 3. Produce two pads of 1.

Then push these pads around the engine, as shown in the picture.

2 2. Place the engine on top of the pad. 3. Produce two pads of 1.00 m and fold them into a three-layer pad. Then push these pads around the engine, as shown in the picture. If required, an extra cardboard plate can be put on top of the engine. The box is now ready to be closed. The total amount of PadPak that was used in this design is 2.50 m. 2 nd PadPak Package Design for Engine part (5 cylinders) Used your current box 1. Produce two pads of 0.40 m and fold them into a double-layer pad. Place these pads at the bottom of the box. (Option: use one pad of 0.60). 2

Push these pads around the engine, as shown in the picture.

The total amount of PadPak that was used in this design is 2.80 m.

5 4 th PadPak Package Design for Engine part (4 cylinders) Used a standard FEFCO 0203 corrugated box with inside dimensions of 500 x 250 x 250 mm. 1. Produced two pads of 2.00 m and folded them, as shown in the picture. 2. Placed the pads on top of the box. 3. Placed the engine on top of the pads. The bottom of the engine will have three-layer pad protection. The other sides have two layer-pads. The pads need to stick out next to the engine (green arrows). 4. Drop tests In order to get an indication of the cushioning properties of the PadPak material, several drop tests have been

Drop tests In order to get an indication of the cushioning properties of the PadPak material, several drop tests have been performed. 7 Summary / Comment To pack your products we used 2-ply 70/70 PadPak -paper. This quality provides excellent cushioning and fixation to your products. The first two designs were made during the visit. The two other designs have been made at Ranpak. The goal was maximum protection with minimum amount of PadPak (± 2.50 m). Furthermore it is beneficial to create equal pad lengths and easy in- and unpacking. Design 3 uses two pads of 1.25 m that are crossed over the box. This works surprisingly well with the existing box. Pulling at the pads can lift the engine out. Design 4 uses another type of box: with a full overlap lid. Also it is slightly bigger. Two pads of 2.00 m are used. Again it is tried to minimize handling for easy packing. In this design more pad layers surround the engine. Based on the information from your company, design 3 can be recommended. The engine will be sent back together with another box. The original box suffered some damage by the extensive drop tests.
