A C E D 4x Coolant Salvage Container Non-Petroleum ased Lubricant APPLICATION: SERING, STRATUS (JR) CAUTION! efore connecting the block heater/cordset to a power source, be sure that the element is immersed in coolant. NEVER energize heater in the open air. The element sheath could burst. CAUTION! Make sure that vehicle has completely cooled off before starting the install. 2 of 5

3 HEATER ATTERY LANKET INSTALL: (ALL ENGINES) Raise and secure the vehicle on a lift. Remove the left front wheel. Remove the left front wheelhouse splash guard. Remove battery hold down bracket. Disconnect and remove the battery. 1 2 Refer to instructions on the battery blanket for proper installation. A 3 Re-install the battery / blanket. Re-install battery hold down bracket. Route cordset up into the engine compartment of 5

4 2.0L OR 2.4L ENGINE LOCK HEATER INSTALL: Locate engine block core plug under the exhaust manifold and on the transmission side of engine. Using a center punch and hammer, carefully strike the bottom edge of the core plug to break it loose. 7 Remove and discard the core plug. Clean the machined part of hole, remove any burrs, compound, paint, rough spots, or sharp outer edges. 6 8 Apply a coating of lubricant to the surface of hole and the O ring on the block heater. Insert block heater as shown. Push into block until fully seated. Using a flat blade screwdriver, tighten the center screw. (Do not overtighten.) Plug the cordset firmly into the block heater. Route cordset upwards and secure to engine harness with two in-line tie straps. Lower the vehicle and open the hood. Route cordset forward between the electronic engine control module and power distribution center. Connect the battery blanket plug to the corresponding outlet on cordset. Secure the cordset and battery blanket cord inside engine compartment with the remaining tie straps. C of 5

5 2.7L ENGINE LOCK HEATER INSTALL: Find block heater mounting hole located at the lower left rearward side of engine and under the exhaust manifold. Remove any burrs, compound, paint, rough spots, or sharp outer edges from the mounting hole. 6 Apply a coating of lubricant to the surface of hole and the O ring on the block heater. Insert block heater as shown. Secure in place with supplied bolt using a 10mm socket. Plug the cordset firmly into the block heater. Attach the cordsets in-line receptacle onto a existing body stud. CAUTION! Make sure that cordset is positioned away from the exhaust manifold. Route cordset upwards along the left side of engine. Lower the vehicle and open the hood. Route cordset forward between the electronic engine control module and power distribution center. Connect the battery blanket plug to the corresponding outlet on cordset. Secure the cordset and battery blanket cord inside engine compartment with the remaining tie straps. D C of 5
