1 INTRINSICALLY SAFE MEASURING SYSTEM TYPE SMALL-EX MEASURING The SMALL-Ex Measuring Instruments are state of the art pressure measuring devices. The SMALL-Ex measuring devices can be mounted as requested by the user. Through processor-technology, higher measuring accuracy and faster response time can be achieved. The stainless steel housing is built to operate in harsh mining environments with the highest level of reliability and accuracy. It is designed for both fluid and gaseous applications. The Round-Design instruments can be equipped with an optional illuminated LCD-display. The In- Line-Design is not available with display. The SMALL-Ex can be supplied with an optional external sensor that can be mounted remotely for ease of monitoring and can be equipped with an illuminated LCD-Display. We also offer the SMALL-Ex design for differential pressure measuring of fluid and gaseous media. A variety of connections in all sizes are available, such NPT, BSPP, Staple Lock, and SSKV. Other connections are available upon request A variety of electrical connections are also available, such as cabling in different lengths, PROMOS, Harting, Hirschmann or SKK varieties. Other connections available upon request. The SMALL-Ex provides a measurement signal from 5 to 15 Hz, 0 to 20 ma, 4 to 20 ma or a voltage up to 10 V, at a power supply of min. 7,5 V DC. These signals are transmitted as analogous signals. The output signals can be customized and configured based upon customer requirements, e.g., 0,5-4,5 V, 6-14,5 Hz, 2-15 ma. It can also be provided with a CAN-Bus option, which enables a CAN-OPEN system. Subject to modifications For industrial purposes we offer the SMALL-Ex in a 2-wire 24 volt version. 34

3 MEASURING Inside the pressure pickup sensor, the unit is equipped with a piezo-resistive pressure transducer with an integrated temperature compensator. An intrinsically safe 12V power supply is required. The pressure is transmitted as an analogous measuring value with an adjustable signal range. There are different signals available, from 5 to 15 Hz, 0 to 20 ma, 4 to 20 ma or a voltage up to 10 V, at a power supply of min. 7,5 V DC., which are transmitted as analogous signals. The output signals can be customized and configured with intermediate sizes for example 0,5-4,5 V, 6-14,5 Hz, 2-15 ma,, (see representative). The SMALL-Ex can also be provided with a CAN-Bus option, which enables a CAN-OPEN system. 4 DIFFERENTIAL MEASURING The differential pressure measuring instrument is designed for fluid and gaseous media and can be mounted according to customer preference. Differential pressure is measured with an integrated differential pressure transducer.
