3 1-) GENERAL DESCRIPTION DCA15 is a Air Conditioner controller unit for vehicles and after-market automotive applications. The controller unit has three steps fan output, one A/C output and one flap output. A/C set temperature can be adjusted in parameters menu. Fans, flap and A/C can be turned on by front panel buttons.. 2-) BEFORE USING THE DEVICE This manual should be kept near the device and should be paid attention to the instructions for easy and quick reference. This device shall not be used for purposes different from those described hereunder. It cannot be used as a safety device. Check application limits before using the device. 3-) SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Check the supply voltage correct, before connecting the device. Do not expose the device to water or moisture. Use the device only within the operating limits avoiding sudden temperature changes with atmospheric humidity to prevent formation of condensation. Warning: Disconnect any electrical connections before any kind of maintanance The probes should be mounted upwards due to casual liquid infiltration. Device plastic case should never be opened. In case of failure or faulty operation, please send the device to the distributor with detailed description of fault. Consider the maximum current which can be applied to each relay (See Specifications). Ensure that the wires for probes, loads and the power supply are seperated and far enough from each other, without crossing and intertwining. In case of applications in industrial environments, the use of mains filter in parallel with inductive loads would be useful.

4 4-) INSTALLATION AND MOUNTING The device should be mounted on vertical panel in a 29mm x 71mm panel cut and fixed using the special bracket supplied. Avoid places subject to strong vibrations, corrosive gases, excessive dirt or humidity.

5 5-) ELECTRICAL CONNECTION The device is provided with screw terminal block to connect cables with a cross section up to 2,5mm 2. Before connecting cables, make sure the power supply complies with the device s requirements. Do not exceed the maximum current allowed on the relay and in case of heavier loads use a suitable external relay. The probes should be mounted upwards due to casual liquid infiltration. It is recommended to place the thermostat probe away from air streams to correctly measure the average room temperature. Place the defrost termination probe among the evaporator fins, in the coldest place, where the most ice is formed, far from heaters or from the warmest place during defrost, to prevent premature defrost termination.

6 6-) TEMPERATURE CONTROL Temperature control method is ON/OFF control with hysteresis: if the temperature measured goes below SET value the compressor is turned off, and then when the temperature measured reaches the value SET plus r0 (hysteresis - differential) the compressor is started again.

7 . 7-) KEY FUNCTIONS A/C : Turns on and off A/C. If A/C is ON, Fan1 is always ON. A/C SET temperature can be adjusted in parameters menu. A/C SET temperature is controlled dependind on internal temperature. FAN: Steps up fan stage with each press, in turn of (if A/C is ON) or (if A/C is OFF). At the first Fan stage, only one Fan LED lits. At the second Fan stage, two FAN LEDs lit. At the third Fan stage, three Fan LEDs lit. EXT: FLAP: UP: If pressed, the external temperature can be displayed for 3 seconds. Turns on and off FLAP output, with each press. This way, in case of 0: No 1: Yes 0 parameter conflict, you can change parameters from the factory default values.
