3 Page 3 25 Wire Harness pn Wire Harness pn The wire harness simplifies installation of the KE2 Evaporator Efficiency (KE2 Evap), KE2 Controlled Environment, and the KE2 Low Temp + Defrost controllers by providing color coded wires with connectors that correspond to the controller s inputs. This speeds installation by reducing on site wire preparation time by over 3/4 hour, and eliminates the need to stock multiple wire gauges, colors and connectors. The stranded wires used in the harness are flexible, making them easier to pull and route, and the wire harness is kept from tangling by a cable tie at each end. The wires are 25 or 40 from cable tie to cable tie, making the overall harness approximately a foot longer. Additionally, on return visits, the wiring is standardized, so there is no question about which wire goes to what. When installing the KE2 Evaporator Efficiency or KE2 Controlled Environment, the mounting box provides a stationary location to attach conduit, allowing the controller to be secured for easy installation and service. The box is sized to accommodate the controller s wiring, providing space for storing the service loops. 6 Page 6 Network Switches When multiple controllers are attached to a KE2 Switch, once bonded, the KE2 Switch forms the foundation of a local Refrigeration Network. This local Refrigeration Network facilitates communications between controllers, plus provides a path for communications to the Internet. The controllers are linked via an Ethernet cable to the KE2 Switch. Benefits of KE2 Switch Communication: Air Sensor - If one controller in the Refrigeration Network experiences a temperature sensor error, the controllers will send the impaired controller either the average temperature or the highest temperature in the space, allowing the controller to continue operating until it can be serviced. pressure may be shared if errors are detected. When sharing pressures, the lowest pressure is used to ensure liquid doesn t return to the compressor. Defrost Cycles - Coordinating defrost cycles is also extremely important. Depending on the type of defrost method selected, the KE2 Evaporator Efficiency will modify the sequence of operation to maximize the system operation. In addition to communicating with each other, the controllers can be connected to the Internet. It provides the KE2 Evaporator Efficiency controller with the ability to communicate easily and immediately both locally and remotely. Although KE2 Therm does not require special equipment for communication with our devices, many users have requested a pre-configured solution to simplify the creation of the Refrigeration Network. Using feedback from many field installations, KE2 Therm s engineers have created the KE2 SmartGate. The KE2 SmartGate natively provides the user with a powerful tool designed to simplify any installation from a basic single controller to the most advanced multi-controller setup. The onboard set of tools are fully supported by KE2 Therm s Technical Support team to make the installation even smoother. Locally it provides wired or wireless access to the controllers without special configurations of the user s PC.
