4 Unit operation Operation principle Viento / Xarios & Zephyr Road only units are powered on Road mode by the vehicle battery (alternator). After starting up, the refrigeration unit by pressing the key, unit start-up and shut-down are automatic. An open-type compressor is driven by the engine of the vehicle. The vehicle battery (12 Vdc alternator) powers the evaporator and condenser fans. The unit automatically shuts down when the engine is switched off with the ignition key. 6 Unit operation Cab command keys & LED description Display 3 digits Box temperature displayed in C by default (for F display refer to "MICROPROCESSOR/Connectors") "df" message in defrost mode Malfunction messages Software version Configuration parameters in the different menus ON / OFF KEYS enables to start and stop the unit. In the event of a power cut, the operating mode and preselected parameters are stored so that the same configuration is retrieved when power is restored. SET KEY is used to access to set point and unit data. enables also, combined with other keys, to enter in selection menu of functional and defrost parameters. 7 Unit operation Cab command keys & LED description MINUS & PLUS KEYS are used to select the requested settings in different menus. DEFROST KEYS enables manual defrost control. ROAD / STANDBY LED indicates if the unit is running in road or standby mode. On Viento range, the standby mode is not used. REGULATION LED - GREEN indicates the 3 different modes: Green light ON: COOLING mode Green light OFF: NULL mode (regulation) Green light flashing: HEATING mode ALARM LED - RED flashes in case of malfunction. 8 Unit operation Operation Start and stop the unit TO START THE UNIT 1. Start the vehicle engine. 2. Start the unit by pressing the ON key. Start-up is timedelayed for 40 seconds. 3. The digital display of the cab control displays the box temperature. 4. Check if temperature set point is correct by pressing the SET key. The set point temperature is highlighted on the digital display. 5. Enter a new set point if necessary. TO STOP THE UNIT 1. For a delivery stop: switch off by the vehicle ignition key. 2. 9 Unit operation Operation Change set point temperature IMPORTANT If, when settings are adjusted, no key is activated within 5 seconds, the system reverts to displaying the box temperature. All changes made are recorded. 1. Press the SET key to display set point temperature. 2. Press the MINUS or PLUS key to change the set point. 3. 10 Unit operation Operation Set defrost 1. Press the OFF key to shut down the unit. 2. Press simultaneously the DEFROST AND ON keys during 5 seconds to display last selected defrost interval. 3. Press the MINUS or PLUS key to change the defrost time: available values: 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 45 mn 4. Press the SET key to display defrost interval: 5. Press the MINUS or PLUS key to change the defrost interval: 00: inhibit defrost function 1h, 2h, 6 h: Fixed defrost interval in hours. 11 Unit operation Operation Set function To limit the temperature pull-down, it is possible to program the minimum set point lock: 1. Press consecutively the PLUS, MINUS & DEFROST keys to access to the functional parameters. 2. Display of the previous minimum set point lock value. Available values: 0 C/-20 C/-29 C (32 F/-4 F/-20.2 F) Factory setting by default : -29 C (-20,2 F) 3. Press the MINUS or PLUS key to modify displayed value. 4. Press the SET key to validate new selected value. 5. Display of the value of differential parameter Available values: Dif1 (1 C) / Dif2 (2 C) / Dif3 (3 C) Factory setting by default : Dif2 6. 12 Unit operation Operation Set function 7. Press the SET key to validate new selected value. 8. Display of the EFM (evaporator fan motor) status in "NULL" mode. Available values: ON or OFF Factory setting by default : OFF 9. Press MINUS or PLUS key to modify displayed value. 10.
