20 WORKPLUS signaling devices for workplace vehicles CERTIFICATIONS AND NORMATIVES NORMATIVE REFERENCES FOR APPROVAL OF LUMINOUS DEVICES FOR AUTHORIZED VEHICLES European Directive 2006/28/EC (and subsequent amendments) and/or Regulation UNECE No. 10 determine the requirements that vehicles and electrical and/or electronic devices (intended to be fitted in these vehicles) should fulfil with regard to electromagnetic compatibility. European Directive 2006/28/EC amends, for the purposes of their adaptation to technical progress, Council Directive 72/245/EEC, relating to the radio interference (electromagnetic compatibility) of motor vehicles (approval e.. ). Regulation UNECE No. 10 applies to vehicles, components or electrical/electronic units (mechanically fastened to the vehicle so that they cannot be removed without use of tools or connected permanently or temporarily to the vehicle wiring harness) with regard to electromagnetic compatibility (approval ).. Electromagnetic compatibility means the ability of a vehicle or components or separate technical units to function satisfactorily (immunity) in its electromagnetic environment without introducing intolerable electromagnetic disturbances to anything in that environment (emission). Luminous warning devices manufactured by Sirena, intended to be used on authorized vehicles, fulfil the requirements of the European Directive 2006/28/EC (and subsequent amendments) or of the Regulation UNECE No. 10 and have therefore be assigned an approval number. Regulation No Uniform provisions concerning the approval of special warning lamps for power-driven vehicles and their trailers Regulation UNECE No. 65 applies to special warning lamps for power-driven vehicles and their trailers. Special warning lamp means a lamp emitting blue, amber or red light intermittently for use on vehicles. 18

21 It is possible to distinguish devices among: Rotating or stationary flashing lamp means a special warning lamp emitting light intermittently all around its vertical axis (Category T). Directional flashing lamp means a special warning lamp emitting light intermittently in a limited angular area (Category X). Complete bar means a special warning lamp with two or more optical systems emitting light intermittently all around its vertical axis. Special warning lamp could have one level of intensity (class 1), or two levels of intensity (class 2). Regulation UNECE No. 65 outlines i.a. specifications that special warning lamps should comply with in order to obtain the approval: - general specifications (vibration and water resistance, frequency, the ON and the OFF time, operating temperature range, tamperproof..) - photometric specifications (minimum and imum values of the effective luminous intensity) - colorimetric characteristics of the light emitted through the filter/covers (blue/ amber/red) expressed in chromaticity coordinates.
