This versatile range of diffusers are supplied complete with a very low acoustically designed plenum box and radial front face plate, which is easily installed in most plastered and inverted T type ceilings. s the plenum box is fitted with a side entry spigot the height required in the ceiling void can be substantially reduced. The side entry also ensures the direct fitting of flexible connections, thereby eliminating unrequired noise generating twist and bends in the 2 ducting. The high induction and radial distribution achieved by the diffusers, even at minimum air quantities in variable volume applications, ensures efficient air movement in the airconditioned zone by eliminating stratification of warm air and correct draft free distribution of colder air. s all moving parts are contained within the specially constructed plenum box, the noise generated in the process of varying the air quantity is absorbed within the plenum box. Connections between electronic master and sub units are accomplished with the use of uni-directional plug in cables, thus ensuring simple and correct installation of control and electrical connections.

3 Specification Dimensions HICV- Constant Volume These diffusers are supplied complete with plenum and side entry spigot. The performance may be adjusted after installation by setting the damper blade position through the face of the diffuser. HIVV-Variable Volume The variable volume diffusers have been designed for use in constant duct pressure systems, thereby requiring a form of pressure control in the duct system. HIVV- P Variable Volume Pneumatic Operation Can be supplied as direct or reverse acting to suit differing control systems (by others) and is complete with motor, electric heater (if required) and relay for electric heater (where required). The motor is driven by a pneumatic signal from the thermostat (by others) with a pressure range of 0-1,0 bar. 4 HIVV-E Operation HIVV- E Variable Volume Electronic Operation The electronically operated units are available as self or system controlled, with either 220 or 24 volt electrical systems. The self controlled unit is supplied complete with motor, heater (if required), RPC control card and temperature sensor. The RPC or Rate ided Proportional Controller ensures control of the air volume, heating and thus temperature of the airconditioned zones. The principal of Rate ided is the measurement of the rate of temperature change in degrees centigrade per minute and the direction of change which is then compared to the temperature set point. The temperature difference, rate of change and direction is then analysed and a signal generated to drive the motor in the required direction and travel length thus varying the air quantity. The functions are performed by the controller at 30 second intervals. The direction of the motor, which is energised for 0-7,5 seconds in one or both directions of travel, is determined by the amount and direction of temperature change. Hence although the Temperature Offset may be calling for the motor to open, the direction of temperature change and rate of change may reverse the motor direction. 5 Technical Specification The advantage of this control principal is a smooth proportional control of air volume and thus temperature. The temperature sensor is fitted with a set point adjustment which may be accessible at the side of the plenum or it may be remotely mounted. The main features of this are as follows: The system controlled units are fitted with motor and heater (if required). These units may then be coupled to a control system via the room thermostats.
