3 Ticket Information: 1. In June 2016, the Electrical Construction and Maintenance IFCC voted to move forward with proposed changes to several IDFC and ELTR courses. The reasons for the proposed changes were two-fold: a. Standardize the course offerings to either 3- or 4-credit hours each. This will facilitate scheduling and instructor load calculations. To do this, the IFCC voted to eliminate any 2-credit hour courses and roll those competencies into other existing required courses. The IFCC also voted to revise any 5-credit hour courses for the same purposes. b. Eliminate the specializations currently in the ES12 and EST3, Electrical Systems Technology diploma and degree programs. In 2013, the Electrical IFCC voted to create separate Electrical Construction and Industrial Electrical programs. However, those specializations remained in the ES12 and EST3 programs. The Electrical program didn t have a program to teach both Electrical Construction and Industrial Electrical skills to the same student. The IFCC decided to merge the individual specializations into a single (long) Electrical Systems program that includes both Electrical Construction and Industrial Electrical courses. This will now allow those colleges that wish to specialize in Electrical Construction to offer EC12, Electrical Construction Technology. For those colleges that wish to specialize in Industrial Electrical, they can offer IET2, Industrial Electrical Technology. For those colleges that wish to offer a combined program, the ES12, Electrical Systems Technology program will now suffice. 2.
