C The manuals were developed with a real world approach that spreads across industry lines, detailing not only Linde truck specific information but industry standards and recommended practices as well. World Wide Pedestrian & Vehicle Safety Initiative Program for Ford Motor Company C Researched and developed strategic actions and guidelines required to accelerate elimination of injuries resulting from accidents involving powered material handling vehicles (PMHV) and pedestrians at Ford Motor Company facilities, world wide. These strategic actions and guidelines became Ford Global Specifications for all current and proposed Ford owned facilities. C Conducted numerous Ford plant layout assessments focused on pedestrian safety. C Trained Ford engineers, worldwide, responsible for implementing the Ford Global Specifications. C Designed signs and warning light systems to assure compliance with global standards. C Developed a training manual for all Ford personnel and burden carrier operators. C Assisted in developing a training video for personnel and burden carrier operators. C Assisted in developing Ford s globally implemented Pedestrian And Vehicle Safety Marking Program pamphlet provided to all individuals entering Ford owned facilities. C Received a Certificate of Appreciation at Ford s 2003 President s Health and Safety Awards program as the first ever Non-Ford employee recipient; for recognition of my work in conjunction with the Corporate Pedestrian Safety Process Team. Test to Determine Human Recognition of Varying Warning Light Luminance C Co-developed and directed testing of simulated human visibility relative to color and light intensity of various types of pedestrian warning light systems installed on a Clark forklift truck, model C500-Y135D GM comprised of a vertical exhaust system, standard upright and cab enclosure. C Data was collected using a photo diode (calibrated to read warning light luminance) mounted in the eye socket of an anthropomorphic test dummy. C Tests were conducted with and without the use of eye; ear; and head protection devices installed to the anthropomorphic test dummy. Test Effectiveness of Ultrasonic Sensor Application on Powered Industrial Trucks C Researched and tested ultrasonic obstacle sensors as a method of activating pedestrian warning systems installed on powered industrial trucks. Test to Determine Forklift Truck Operator Noise Exposure from On-Truck Warning Alarms C Developed and directed testing of sound levels presented to operator s of forklift trucks, with and without reverse alarms to assure compliance with ASME B , Measurement of Sound Emitted by Low Lift, High Lift and Rough Terrain Powered Industrial Trucks, and OSHA 29 CFR Occupational Noise Exposure standards. Test to Determine Sound Levels Emitted by Internal Combustion Engine Forklift Trucks C Developed and directed testing of sound levels emitted from forklift trucks to assure compliance with ASME B , Measurement of Sound Emitted by Low Lift, High Lift and Rough Terrain Powered Industrial Trucks, and OSHA 29 CFR Occupational Noise Exposure standards. Test to Determine Compliance of Forklift Truck Operator Visibility with ISO/FDIS Standard C Developed and directed testing of operator visibility from a seated position on a Clark forklift truck, new model CDP 160, equipped with a two-stage upright, low profile carriage, cab enclosure, and suspension seat, to assure compliance with the international standard, ISO/FDIS 13564: 1997(e), Test method for measuring visibility from powered industrial trucks. Test to Determine Operator Visibility from Various Types of Powered Industrial Trucks C Developed and directed testing to determine operator visibility from various types of powered industrial trucks including: Class 1 - Electric Motor, Sit-down Rider, Counter-Balanced Trucks (Solid and Pneumatic Tire), Class 2 - Electric Motor Narrow Aisle Trucks (Solid Tire), Class 4 - Internal Combustion Engine Trucks (Solid Tire), Class 5 - Internal Combustion Engine Trucks (Pneumatic Tire), Class 7 - Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks (Pneumatic Tire), Container Forklift Trucks, and Van Carriers.
