1 HEALTH GRADE 10 - DRIVER EDUCATION Course Description: The tenth grade health education program is devoted to driver education theory. This course will meet the mandate for 30 hours of classroom instruction and includes all aspects of driving techniques and safety, automotive care, financial responsibility, defensive driving, and the study of traffic laws and regulations. Course Rationale: This course will provide the student with the knowledge and skills needed to become a safe and efficient user of the highway transportation system both as a driver and a passenger. Core Curriculum Content Standard: (CCCS 2.2 ) Objectives: 1.1 Students shall understand the importance of driving to the individual and society (CPI ) 1.2 Students shall have knowledge of the highway transportation system and it s importance to driving safety.
