The type FKA-EU fire dmpers re tested to EN nd comply with In ddition to this, ntionl guidelines must be complied with. Correct pproved instlltion loctions re in solid wlls nd ceiling slbs, remote from solid wlls, nd in lightweight prtition wlls. Airflow direction is not criticl. For instlltion in horizontl duct, the dmper blde shft must be horizontl. In the cse of fire, the dmper is triggered either by fusible link t 72 C or thermoelectriclly with spring return ctutor. The relese mechnism is ccessible nd cn be tested from the outside. The clss of performnce of FKA-EU fire dmpers depends on the ppliction, see tble on pge 3. 3 Correct use To ensure complete functioning of the fire dmper it is essentil to red the operting nd instlltion mnul nd to comply with it. In ddition, the ntionl guidelines must be complied with. The generl mintennce stndrd EN lso pplies. The functionl relibility of fire dmpers must be tested t lest every six months. If two consecutive tests re successful, the next test cn be conducted one yer lter. In generl, it is sufficient to relese nd re-open the fire dmper; for fire dmper with spring return ctutor this cn be done by remote control. Fire dmpers must be included in the regulr clening schedule of the ventiltion system. Design informtion The clss of performnce of FKA-EU fire dmpers depends on the ppliction, see tble. Instlltion of fire dmpers must be crried out in complince with provisions of federl stte lw nd the generlly recognised codes of prctice. Ducting should be instlled in such mnner tht it does not impose ny lods on the fire dmper in cse of fire. It is recommended to use flexible connectors to connect rigid ducting to the fire dmper for prticulr pplictions. Fire dmpers with csing length of 240 mm must be extended with n extension piece or duct before instlltion into wlls or ceilings.
