12 Installation and cropping of the sash fittings components Fig Mount the corner element Crop and mount the drive-gear 2. For sash rebate widths of more than 1000 mm*, first inset the centre lock 3 or the horizontal tilt-lock. Pay attention to the distance from the rebate edge (refer to Fig. 1) Mount the tilt-lock first on variable handleheight drive-gears. 3. Crop and mount the rebated scissor stay 4. Insert the corner support 6, line up against the rebate edge and screw to fasten. For continuous fittings grooves, use corner support spacer bars. Predrill with a 3 mm drill for fixing to the rebate edge. 5. The centre-fixings (preset centred cam-fixing) are activated upon operating the fittings for the first time. 6. 14 Scissor-stay limiter For an SRH of less than 600 mm, a scissor-stay limiter must be installed. Depending on the different rebate edges, this can be necessary even for SRHs of less than 800 mm. Please note: use the maximum possible screw length, pay attention to the screw hole in the safety housing! There are seven screws in total! 2. Predrill the positioning drill holes for the connecting plate in the frame - see dimension details. 3. Hinge the sash into the frame. 4. Place the safety cable in the connecting plate and fasten to the frame with the 5 x 60 mm screws provided. (Please note: Predrill screw holes with Ø 4 mm drill) 5. The sash can only be hinged and unhinged by qualified installation personnel, since this involves removing the connecting plates and installing them again at a later point! Installation sequence bottom (pivot post area) 1. Position the sash components with notches 395 mm from the bottom (for a clearance of 12 mm) and screw to fasten. Please note: Use the maximum possible screw length! There are six screws in total! 2. Predrill the positioning drill holes for the connecting plate in the frame - see dimension details. 4. Place the safety cable in the connecting plate and fasten to the frame with the 5 x 60 mm screws provided. (Please note: Predrill screw holes with Ø 4 mm drill) 5. The sash can only be hinged and unhinged by qualified installation personnel, since this involves removing the connecting plates and installing them again at a later point! 3. Hinge the sash into the frame. Fittings components that are relevant for safety should be examined for wear and tear at regular intervals. Lubricate all Tilt&Turn fittings movable parts and locking points. Remove the red transportation clips after screwing on the safety pin! Use of safety pins with PVC profiles only on request! The safety pin prevents the window sash from falling out as a result of improper operation! It definitely does not replace the maintenance of fittings at stipulated yearly intervals! The safety pin is designed to prevent an accident ONLY ONCE. After a fall or similar application of the accident prevention mechanism, the safety pin must therefore always be replaced! PLEASE NOTE! Drive-gear jig: Adjust the centre routing plate to the drivegear size, place the bottom routing plate into the rebate at the bottom and clamp to the frame. Push the top routing plate upwards, place on the top rebate edge and clamp to the frame. 2. PLEASE NOTE: Notch on the second stay guide = 25 mm below the start of the curvature (refer to Fig. 1)! 6. Install the T&T drive-gear 7. PLEASE NOTE: only T&T drive-gears with sash lifters may be used. For drive-gear drill-holes, refer to single-sash window. For variable handle-height drive-gears, remove the tilt-lock screw guide. Activate the sash lifter. 7. Mount the corner support. 8. Mark and install the strikers, mark with 4 mm clearance, rout and install. 9.
