1 2011 Census Migration Peterborough Unitary Authority - level data Headlines Year of arrival Across most wards in Peterborough, the most common period of arrival of migrants to the UK was 2004 to The wards receiving the most recent migrants to the UK were Central, North and Park wards, with 7.8%, 5.3% and 3.4% of their populations respectively being migrants arriving between 2010 and 2011; the average for Peterborough was 1.8%. Age at arrival Across nearly all wards in Peterborough, the most common age groups of migrants were between 20 and 44 years, and between 0 and 4 years. The wards with the highest proportions of their populations comprising migrants aged 20 to 44 years were Central (29.9%), East (20.5%) and Park (19.9%) wards; on average, 11.3% of Peterborough's population falls into this group. Length of residence Across nearly all wards in Peterborough, the most commonly reported length of residence in the UK among migrants was 10 years or more. The wards with the highest proportions of migrants who have been UK for less than 2 years were Central, Park and North wards, with 12.9%, 8.1% and 5.3% of their populations falling into this group; the average for Peterborough was 3.1%. Note: The reported wards used for Census data in Peterborough are consistent between 2001 and 2011 allowing comparison over time. They reflect current (2011) ward boundaries with one exception. The exception relates to a single Output Area (OA)[Ref E ] located at the western end of the Sugar Way development in Woodston. This OA is reported in 2011 Census data tables as part of Orton with Hampton ward. Due to ward boundary changes since 2001, the area is now part of Woodston and Fletton ward. Output Area (E ) contained 361 persons and 111 households on Census day.
