The ST400 is unique in that it can be upgraded to CNC when the need arises. See page 15 for more details. EdmDrill CT400 Precision, CNC EDM Drilling Machine The CT400 is a versatile, precision CNC EDM drilling machine. The standard 3-axis configuration can be upgraded with a tilt-rotary table and electrode changer to create a powerful production machine for drilling complex parts requiring holes at multiple angles. Applications include turbine engine components, nozzle and spray apertures, medical parts and hydraulic valves. EdmDrill CT500F Large Capacity EDM Drilling Machine The CT500F is a specially designed, large capacity CNC EDM drilling machine. Its fixed-bridge design enables extremely accurate positioning and drilling of holes. EdmDrill MT40S Component System The MT40S is a component system for adding small-hole EDM drilling capability to standard milling machines. The Z-axis servo head can be mounted on the rear of the mill head and moved into place over the mill worktable. The Power Supply and Controller unit and Dielectric Fluid Pump are positioned next to the mill. A worktable with splash guards and drain is clamped to the mill worktable See page 14 for more details. EdmDrill JT300 Manual EDM Drilling Machine The JT300 is an affordable, compact, manual EDM drilling machine. Ideal for general purpose hole drilling. Common applications are Wire-EDM start holes, gas escape holes in molds and lock-wire holes in fasteners. The JT300 features a tilting drill head for easily drilling angled holes. See page 14 for more details. EdmDrill SD22KS Manual EDM Drilling Machine The SD22KS is an affordable, manual EDM drilling machine. The unique, interactive controller greatly simplifies drilling a wide range of materials. See page 16 for more details. EdmDrill FT300 EDM Drilling Machine The EdmDrill FT300 was designed to satisfy the demands for increased production capability in a more compact package. It is operable and serviceable from the front and rear of the machine, allowing machines to be placed together, side by side, maximizing floor space. See page 6 for more details. EdmDrill RT3038 High Capacity EDM Drilling Machine The RT3038 is a high capacity, 5 Axis EDM drilling machine for use in the tool and die, automotive, aerospace and power generation industries. The RT3038 features a moving gantry design. The worktable is stationary for maximum part weight capacity and reduces operator reach into the work area. A full function remote hand pendant allows the operator to manually position all axes and initiate drilling. All operator functions take place at floor-level including replenishing the electrode changer during machine operation. See page 8 for more details. EdmDrill RT6050 High Capacity EDM Drilling Machine With enormous work envelope and part capacity up to 1,200 pounds (545kg.), there are few EDM drilling jobs the RT6050 can t handle. With automatic electrode and guide changing, extensive programming tools and our Fast Servo and Advanced Break-Through Detection, the RT6050 is one of the most advanced and versatile EDM Drillers available today. Available with a variety of options, the CT400 can be configured to tackle nearly any EDM drilling job. The CT400 can be built in 3, 4 or 5 axis configuration. All axes are fully integrated, programmed and controlled by superior Siemens CNC controllers. Siemens controllers are simple to program and fully compatible with most CAM software. Please note that an additional 4th axis or tilt-rotary table can be added to the CT400 on your shop floor should the need arise. For long-running, unattended operation, look to Current EDM s sturdy and reliable Automatic Electrode Changer (AEC24). Time tested in around-the-clock operation, the AEC24 automatically changes up to 24 electrodes. 4 EdmDrill FT300 Fully Enclosed EDM Drilling Machine The EdmDrill FT300 is designed for high-production use in industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Medical and Cutting Tools. The fully enclosed FT300 can be placed side-by-side in rows to save floor space and facilitate robotic part loading and unloading. It is fully operable and serviceable from the front and rear of the machine. Moving gantry design allows for a stationary worktable greatly increasing weight capacity and reducing operator reach for ergonomic part handling. Table travels are 12 inches on the X-axis and 6 inches on the Y-axis with part weight capacity up to 25 lbs. at the tilt-rotary table. Precision slides and generous work envelope (6 inch diameter, 10 inch tall cylinder) enable accurate 5 axis positioning and drilling of complex parts such as turbine engine components, nozzles, valves, injectors, medical and dental devices, and cutting tools. Drilling aspect ratios greater than 300:1 can be achieved with deionized water dielectric fluid. Our EDM Milling feature greatly expands the FT300 s capabilities by enabling the machining of 3 dimensional shapes such as gates and diffusers (ESPRIT CAM recommended to greatly simplify programming). The highly sensitive servo and finely tuned power supply enables the FT300 to drill with consistent speed, wear and depth control. It won t bend or collapse long, thin electrodes, and exit hole break-through speed is optimized for rapid hole-to-hole cycle time. EdmDrill CT500 Large Capacity CNC EDM Drilling Machine The EdmDrill CT500 is a high-precision, large capacity machine with 22 x 14 inch XY travel. The spacious work area can easily accommodate the Nikken 5AX105 or 5AX130 rotary table turning the CT500 into one of the most advanced CNC EDM drillers. The worktable is made of granite to optimize electrical isolation and the unique work tank can be configured for submersed or non-submersed drilling. Virtually any option can be added to the CT500, including the Automatic Electrode Changer (AEC24), Automatic Guide Changer (AGC) and safety light curtains. 5 EdmDrill RT3038 High Capacity EDM Drilling Machine EdmDrill RT1800 EDM Drilling Machine The EdmDrill RT3038 is a versatile, high-capacity machine designed for complex drilling of large and heavy parts common in the aerospace, automotive, power generation and cutting tool industries. The RT3038 features table stroke of 30 inches in X and 38 inches in Y. The longer Y axis enables the use of large rotary tables that can be installed either horizontally or vertically to drill both flat and tall parts. The standard 5 axis configuration utilizes the reliable Nikken 5AX201 tilt/rotary table which is ergonomically installed at the front of the machine for easy part loading and unloading. The extended Z axis head allows drilling with up to 24 inch long electrodes and the included EDM Milling feature provides the capability to create 3D shapes such as diffusers and slots. Safety shields keeps moving parts away from operators but enables full viewing of operation. The RT3038 is the ideal EDM driller for large turbine blades and vanes, large rings and tall cutting tools. The EdmDrill RT1800 is a specially designed machine for the drilling of extremely small holes in long and narrow parts. The moving C-Frame design enables precise XY axes positioning and the stationary worktable ensures part stability with no axes overhang issues. It is designed for drilling extremely large and heavy parts common in the automotive, aerospace, power generation and tool & die industries. The RT6050 s worktable is open and easily accessible to facilitate setup and part loading/unloading with an overhead crane or from the front with a loader. The RT6050 is available in three and five axis configuration. A tilting drilling head (Theta) is available for special angled drilling. The versatile remote control hand pendant includes a special Teach Mode developed for turbine engine repair work where holes are aligned by sight. Manually position all axes from the remote controller and then start drilling with a simple push of a button. 7 EdmDrill Nikken Indexers VISION INSPECTION SYSTEM Current EDM developed the Vision Inspection System (VIS) for customers who require real-time part inspection in close proximity to production machines. What makes the VIS unique is it matches the production drilling machines in all mechanical specifications by sharing the same machine base, components and rotary tables. This allows for a true comparison between the master part program and a drilled part without stack-up error. The complex conversion of offsets between different machine types is not required. Available on all our CNC machine models, the VIS can inspect round holes and slots. Hole location and diametrical true position data is output for each hole in a customizable, printable inspection report. An offset file will also be generated postinspection, which can be run in any Current EDM machine to offset hole location. The VIS uses the sturdy Cognex camera, mounted in place of the drilling head. NIKKEN SW-105 A-Axis Travel B-Axis Travel Fixture and Part Weight ±90 ± lb. (11.3kg) Developed specifically for our turbine engine repair customers, the VIS can also identify hole presence where existing holes could be blocked or welded shut. The VIS is an invaluable tool for part inspection and verification. EdmDrill Robotics The RAD (Robotic Assisted Drilling) system represents Current EDM s desire to lead in the automation of EDM drilling. Taking full advantage of the partnership between Siemens and Kuka Robotics, the RAD features a fully integrated Kuka robot capable of running part programs directly from the Siemens 840D control. There is no teaching of the robot - the robot is programmed in Cartesian Coordinates like any CNC machine. The robot loads and unloads parts, changes electrodes and guides, and positions the part under the drill head for processing. The RAD is the most advanced and automated EDM drilling machine available. It is designed to take-up minimal floor space and can easily be configured into a cell. 8 EdmDrill MT40 Component EDM Drilling Machine EdmDrill ST400 Precision EDM Drilling Machine The EdmDrill MT40 is a component-style system that allows you to add EDM drilling capability to an existing machine tool or custom base. For example, the MT40 drilling head can be installed on the slotter head side of a knee mill to instantly turn it into an EDM driller. The 57 peak amp power supply and controller are housed in a roll-around cabinet for convenience and transportability. The system includes a granite worktable and aluminum drain pan which mounts to standard T slots on a knee mill. The MT40 comes standard with an M-function interface which enables automated drilling with a CNC controller or rotary table. 9 EdmDrill SD22KS Precision EDM Drilling Machine EdmDrill Model SHEDM-65 Compact Hole Driller Filtration The SHEDM-65 is a self contained water filtration system that provides an endless supply of water dielectric fluid to your Current EDM drilling machine. It is ruggedly made of stainless steel for many years of continuous use. In order to optimize drilling results the water must be filtered and maintained at a constant temperature and conductivity level. The used water from the machine is filtered through a washable filter then passed through ion exchange resin to control water conductivity. A chiller maintains constant water temperature and an ozone generator is used to inhibit bacteria growth. The EdmDrill SD22KS is an affordable manual EDM drilling machine designed for general purpose use. It is ruggedly built and packed with features that greatly simplify operation. The touch-screen interactive controller takes the guess-work out of power setting selection.
