2 Performance Series Vertical Machining Center Overview To match the demand of greater accuracy and total reliability at higher speeds JYOTI has developed special performance series Vertical Machining Centers. These rigid machines are broad based C type structure machines, with a moving table for easy access. 2 The high dynamic structure supports rapid axes take-offs with an acceleration of 5m/s.Hi-tech features like linear scale feedback and through coolant, high speed motorized spindle are incorporated in these machines as available options. Structure These machines are rigid machines designed for reliability in accuracy and speed. The complete structure is made out of graded casting and heat treated for consistent accuracy for long time. Broad rigid base with heavy cross ribbings dampens the effect of vibrations. Also the twin layer heavy column structure helps in balancing the whole machine while taking high cutting load. Table of the machine is made of modular casting with the addition of special alloys for consistent accuracy over a long period of time. The complete structure is FEA (Finite Element Analysis) proven with stringent analysis done by JYOTI. 3 - Point Leveling With the 3 point support system, the machines can be installed quickly. These machines can also be moved easily and do not require any kind of leveling maintenance.

3 High Dynamic Structure The spacing of LM guides for slide movements are in such a way that it ensures stability in full working area during dynamic as well as static conditions. In heavy duty machines, VMC 50, VMC 60 and VMC 1260, there are 4 no. of linear motion guideways with 6 blocks on Y axis and X axis has got 6 linear blocks to support the broad table movement. This ensures the load carrying capacity of the axis and thus justifies rigidity of the machine. Maintenance Free Guideway High precision P class linear motion guideways with exceptional static and dynamic stiffness are used in these machines. The guideways are completely protected from dirt and dust by extremely flexible telescopic covers. These guideways could be maintained virtually service free for life. Performance Spindle The spindle of the machine is designed and manufactured in-house at JYOTI. For high speed and stability during heavy cutting loads, angular contact bearings are used with life lubrication. These spindles are manufactured in our dedicated clean room facility and then finally balanced and extensively tested for performance. For DM Series machines specially designed Ceramic Bearing Spindles are used to mach demanding cutting parameters to work at higher rpm for better surface finish. Due to ceramic bearing design less heat gets generated while continuously machining at higher rpm giving spindle better working life. Auto Tool Changer The auto tool changer is a Twin Arm Type with Disc Type tool magazine capable of storing Tools at a time. The Tool change time is 2.4 seconds. An option of tool magazine is also available. High Dynamic Structure (4 L. M. Guideways in Y Axis) VMC 50, VMC 60 & VMC 1260 Maintenance Free Guideway Easy Operating and Maintenance Operator Panel Position 0 The Operator control panel is located on the right side of the operator. A 90 tilting movement helps the operator to view the machining area while handling the Machine Operating Panel. Performance Spindle Easy Chip Removal The accumulated chips in the chip tray could be removed easily by just removing the chip tray from the front side of the Machine. Improved Maintenance Units which require regular checking like pneumatics, lubrication etc. are conveniently located for easy maintenance at the rear of the machine well within the reach of operator. 4 Performance Series Vertical Machining Center Nozzles for Cutting Tool Coolant The Coolant nozzles around the Spindle face facilitates the manual adjustment of the nozzles for proper positioning of the coolant on the job while machining. Productivity Improvement Options th th 4 & 5 Axis Capability th th For maximum application and contouring flexibility, usage of 4 Axis or Axis rotary table with high resolution feedback system can be opted. These rotary tables can be prograed through the control system, that can be used to increase productivity by machining multiple sides of a workpiece in single setting Nozzles for Cutting Tool Coolant Electro Spindle For high speed machining a 100 / / rpm spindle with built-in motor is available. This is a high torque motorized spindle with better acceleration. The peak speed reaches within 2.5 seconds while the deceleration rate of only 2 seconds Probes A wide choice of spindle and surface-sensing probes as tool & job probes with infrared / radio / laser transmission technology are available for increased spindle utilization, work piece set up and work piece measurement th th 4 & 5 Axis Capability Coolant Through Spindle (CTS) This option provides high pressure filtered coolant directly to the cutting edge minimizing heat distortion, ensuring maximum productivity with today's high performance tooling. Highly recoended for jobs demanding deep hole drilling and tapping. Chip Conveyor Machines can be mounted with Chip Conveyor option for efficient swarf removal for entire series. Such type of arrangement is very much useful for applications requiring continuous machining hours having much metal removal. With help of this system machine downtime can be reduced drastically. 5 Flush Coolant System Efficient chip evacuation which is one of the important factor for better productivity with un-interrupted machining operations can be efficiently enhanced by selection of flush coolant system. High pressure coolant splash via flexible nozzles can be targeted to area of maximum chip accumulation. Such a system enhances reduction in machining down time giving peace of mind to operator and hence positively effecting productivity. Gear Box For applications requiring high cutting force for harder material or high cutting speed for soft materials, 2-Speed Gearbox needs to be opted. These gearbox provide higher cutting torque at lower rpm with auto shifting mechanism keeping power constant. Such gearboxes get directly coupled to main spindle motor giving production flexibility without disturbing precision.
