1 Bachelor Degree Power and machines Program Dept. of Electrical Engineering Course specification Electrical Testing (A-B) اختبارات كهربية )أ- ب( EP Course Aim Main Aim To apply the theory of electrical machines motorsgenerators-transformers to the practical industrial settings with appropriate drives and controls. To learn the theory of major stationary and rotating electrical machines operating on DC/AC and their corresponding control systems. To establish the concepts of electrical power production, transmission, application, and the control relating to the industrial and commercial setting. Sub-Aims To make the students familiar with measuring instruments, power components including electrical machines and H.V equipments. To let the students design the connection diagram to perform a certain experiment and carry out this connection diagram properly, run the experiment and take the required results. The students should be able to draw, comment and discuss the obtained results. Students should be able to plan and conduct experimental measurements, use modern test and data acquisition equipment, and be able to analyze. Students will be able to use standard measuring equipment ( voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, tachometers, and dynamometers) to measure the mechanical and electrical operating characteristics of typical electromechanical power conversion devices. 2.
