2 Introduction Introduction The purpose of this document is to facilitate problem solving for Operational analysis 1 This document has been produced to help users and helpdesks at the distributors and at the factory. For questions which are not answered here, please contact the Technical Helpdesk at your distributor, your IT helpdesk or use the FRAS fault reporting system depending on the type of question you have. The illustration below describes the support routes from workshop to the relevant department of Scania in Södertälje. FRAS 1. Workshop 2. Distributor helpdesk 3. The workshop always contacts the distributor s Technical Helpdesk, which forwards the matter to Scania in Södertälje. 1. 3 Connection to Scania in Södertälje Connection to Scania in Södertälje Question A1: I cannot use the Operational analysis service. Answer: Can you log into Reflex Commercial Support? If not, your password may have expired. Contact your Reflex coordinator to get a new password. Question A2: I have tried to log into Reflex several times and it does not work. Answer: Your Reflex account may have been locked due to more than 3 failed attempts to log in. Contact your Reflex coordinator or the helpdesk at the distributor. They, in turn, will contact Infomate Customer Support, who will reset the Reflex login counter. Question A3: I cannot access Reflex. Answer: Your Reflex account may be locked. The password must be changed every three months for the account to remain active. Question A4: I am unable to access the Reflex login page. Answer: Check that your Internet connection is working. If it is and the problem continues, it is probably a server problem. Wait and try again later. Question A5: I am a Reflex coordinator but I cannot view the roles in Reflex AD (XDS). Answer: Ask your distributor to contact the helpdesk in Södertälje. Your area is probably not activated for Operational analysis in Reflex AD (XDS). OPER:03 Issue Scania CV AB Sweden 3 (6)

4 Question Q1: As distributors can we find out how and how often our dealers use Operational analysis? Answer: Scania will register the users' activities in Operational Analysis. However, there are currently (06/07/2009) no plans to automatically generate statistics for the dealer network. Question Q2: We would like training in Operational Analysis with the focus on how to interpret data; is any such training available? Answer: Scania is working to improve Operational Analysis. The aim is that the information you want should be available in the portal for Operational Analysis. This, together with the Workshop Manual and performance booklet, should provide the help with analysis that you need. User instructions for Operational Analysis are available on TIL. The user manual is updated continuously. Question Q3: The presentation of fuel consumption does not work for all vehicles. Is this a bug? Answer: Operational data files which are downloaded and sent with SDP3 1.8 or earlier versions do not contain fuel consumption data. Always use the latest version of SDP3. Question Q4: When measuring the fuel consumption, the measurement uncertainty at present is +/- 5% for PDE and +/-10% for HPI. However, we need a measurement uncertainty of less than +/-2%. Answer: Please see the Workshop Manual and performance booklet for an answer to this question. Question Q5: Can you divide the presentation of fuel consumption in the following way? 1. Fuel consumption when driving 2. Fuel consumption when idling 3. Fuel consumption when power take-off is used? Answer: Scania implemented the division in December Unfortunately, it proved to have flaws for many of the vehicles that are/were in operation. Since February 2010, Scania presents a divided fuel consumption. OPER:03 Issue Scania CV AB Sweden 4 (6)

5 Question Q6: Is there any way to see whether the time registered in the tachograph matches the time in the engine control unit? The total time must be the same unless the engine control unit has been renewed. Answer: The May 2007 issue explains the different times logged in the control units: The APS control unit registers the total time that the 15 voltage has been on. The Opticruise control unit registers the total time that the output shaft has had a speed greater than 10 rpm. The engine control unit registers the total time that the engine speed has been greater than 0 rpm. So obviously the times from these 3 control units will vary. The times can be found under the specific values for each control unit. Question Q7: When we use Operational Analysis, why do we get an error message saying there is a problem processing the file? Answer: Download a new operational data file from the vehicle. Try to resend it to Operational Analysis. If the problem persists, contact the helpdesk at Scania in Södertälje and submit a fault report in FRAS. Scania is also working on improving the system's fault control. Question Q8: Why is the fuel consumption displayed in Operational Analysis extremely low for some vehicles? Answer: The engine control unit (S6, S7 or S8) has probably been renewed. Total fuel consumption is set to 0 in the new control unit. This is divided by the total distance driven, resulting in a low fuel consumption value in l/100 km. If instead you highlight 2 operational data files from the date after the engine control unit was renewed, the correct fuel consumption will be displayed. Question Q9: Presentation of the engine control unit s operational data (S6, S7 or S8) does not work for all vehicles. Answer: The engine control unit (S6, S7 or S8) has probably been renewed or updated with new engine software that is probably not supported in Operational Analysis. Operational data files which are downloaded and sent with SDP3 can in some instances have information missing. Download a new operational data file from the vehicle. Try to resend it to Operational Analysis. If the problem persists, contact the helpdesk at Scania in Södertälje and submit a fault report in FRAS. OPER:03 Issue Scania CV AB Sweden 5 (6)

6 Question Q10: Some operational data files do not display operational data (for a vehicle). Answer: There is no operational data in the "Limited reading" type of operational data files downloaded and sent with Remote Diagnostics. Limited reading is marked with * in the list and includes an odometer reading and information about fault codes. Question Q11: Some engine types do not have support for the oil change report. Answer: An oil change report cannot be created for all engine types at present. It is currently possible to create an oil change report for the engine types listed under Operational analysis/workshop reports/oil change reports. OPER:03 Issue Scania CV AB Sweden 6 (6)
