At vehicle parked, the supply line pressure at the Control Port () is released by setting the Park Brakes or removal of the Emergency Gladhand. With a reservoir pressure > 00 PSI, the valve will expel condensates and contaminants from the reservoir. Once the reservoir pressure decays to less than 95 PSI, the spring force will return the valve seal to its normal location and close the passage between Port and. The reservoir pressure stays above 75 PSI. PAGE

6 Quick Service Guide (L006W) Installation Instructions Reservoir Purge Valve Orientation Options PRIOR TO WORKING ON THE VEHICLE, BLOCK WHEELS AND DRAIN THE AIR PRESSURE FROM THE RESERVOIR. NPTF FITTINGS: Liquid sealant is preferred over tape to decrease the risk of contamination. Tighten NPT fitting using the turns from finger tight (T.F.F.T.) method, typically 2- turns.. Install fittings into the RPV: A. Port (Reservoir IN): /8-8 NPT x /8 Tube Elbow B. Port (Exhaust): /8-8 NPT x /8 Tube C. Port (Supply): /8-8 NPT x /8 Tube or /2 Tube PLUMBING DIAGRAM Trailer Emergency/ Supply / 8 or / 2 Tubing 2. Position the valve on the vehicle with sufficient space to facilitate service and ~ 6 above the bottom of the reservoir. Orient the valve with exhaust port downward or horizontal. Mount the valve to a rigid structure using two ¼ bolts, washers and nuts.. Remove the manual drain valve from the reservoir and install a branch tee. Install a /8 tube fitting and the manual drain valve into the branch tee.. Connect /8 tubing between the branch tee and the valve Port - Reservoir. / 8 or / 2 Tubing SUPPLY (CONTROL) PORT [] RESERVOIR (IN) PORT [] EXHAUST PORT [] MOUNT VALVE 6 ABOVE THE RESERVOIR BOTTOM DRAIN IS RECOMMENDED / 8 Tubing Siphon Drain [IF APPLICABLE] Reservoir Manual Drain Valve 5. Cut the existing /8 or /2 Emergency/Supply line tubing and insert the corresponding size tube tee fitting. 6. Connect /8 or /2 tubing from the open port of the Emergency/ Supply line tee to the valve Port - Supply. 7. Connect a short [~ 6 ] piece of /8 tubing to the valve Port - Exhaust. TEST OPERATION Set parking brakes or remove shop air from the Emergency/ Supply line. Release of the Emergency/Supply line air pressure will allow the RPV to expel condensates and contaminants from reservoir until the pressure depletes to PSI. 8. Start engine or apply shop air to the Emergency/Supply line to build system pressure in reservoir to 20 PSI. Check for leaks. Perform Test Operation. PAGE

Inspect the filter every three () months or when the air flow is significantly reduced. Filter Service Kit Each, Filter Each, O-Ring Filter Service Procedure. Block the wheels of the vehicle. 2. Depressurize the reservoir air tank on the trailer/dolly. This can be accomplished by opening the manual drain valve on the reservoir air tank.. Remove the filter from the reservoir purge valve using a 5/6 Hex Wrench.. Clean the threaded port on the Haldex Reservoir Purge Valve where the filter was located. 5. Clean or replace the filter. Filter Service Kit , includes filter and O-ring. Reassemble. 6. Start engine or apply shop air to the Emergency/Supply line to build system pressure in reservoir to 20 psi. Check for leaks. 7. Test Operation: Set parking brakes or remove shop air from the Emergency/Supply line. Release of the Emergency/Supply line air pressure will cause the reservoir pressure to deplete to PSI. With a reservoir pressure greater than 00 psi, the RPV passage between Port and is open to atmosphere, thus condensates and contaminants expel from the reservoir. PAGE 5

Clamp the Panel/RPV assembly to the trailer rail, close to the reservoir, using top bracket [Item 5] and Item 2, &. Tighten the /8 screws to 27-5 ft-lbs.. Remove the manual drain valve from the reservoir: A. Bottom Port Manual Drain Valve - Install Item 7 into the reservoir. Install Item 8 and manual drain valve into the / branch tee. B. Upper Port [Siphon] Manual Drain Valve Install Item 6. Install Item 7 into Item 6. Install Item 8, and manual drain valve into the / branch tee. Connect /8 tubing between Item 8 in the / branch tee to Item 9 in Port (Reservoir IN) of the RPV. 5. Cut the existing /8 or /2 Emergency/Supply line tubing and insert the appropriate sized PTC tee, /8 [Item 6] or /2 [Item 5]. 6. Connect /8 or /2 tubing from the open port of the Emergency/Supply line PTC tee to Item 2 or Item in Port (Supply) of the RPV. 7. Connect /8 x 6 tubing to the Item 2 in Port (Exhaust) of the RPV. 8. Start engine or apply shop air to the Emergency/Supply line to build system pressure in reservoir to 20 PSI. Check for leaks. 9. Test Operation: Set parking brakes or remove shop air from the Emergency/Supply line. Release of the Emergency/Supply line air pressure will allow the RPV to expel condensates and contaminants from reservoir until the pressure depletes to PSI. PAGE 8
