2 Functional description of pump elements with spring return The suction stroke is controlled by the spring return. The delivery piston is brought into final position by the spring force and the metering chamber is filled with lubricant. With another turning movement closes the delivery piston the suction drilling, the lubricant is delivered against the non-return valve towards the outlet. The pressure line should only be connected when the pump element delivers without air inclusions. A non-return valve prevents that the lubricant is reprimed. The delivered medium principally has to be clean to maintain the function of the non-return valve. Functional description of pump elements with mechanically controlled suction- and pressure stroke The operation of the delivery piston is positively effected via the eccentric ring. With the suction stroke is the delivery piston brought into final position and the metering chamber is filled with lubricant. With another turning movement closes the delivery piston the suction drilling, the lubricant is delivered against the non-return valve towards the outlet. The pressure line should only be connected when the pump element delivers without air inclusions. A non-return valve prevents that the lubricant is reprimed. 14 with mechanically controlled suction Pressure limitation valve with micro switch and pressure stroke The maximum operating pressure in the central lubrication system is monitored via a mirco switch that is installed at the pressure limiting valve of the pump elements. If there is an error at the system e.g. at blockade of a lube point, the micro switch is actuated by high pressure in the system. The signal of the micro switch can be evaluated by a possible installed machine control. Attention: This model is only suitable for grease lubrication pumps. They serve for the automatic level regulation in reservoirs with liquids. A signal is given when the liquid exceeds or falls below a certain level. The float switch consists of a skid pipe in which are reed contacts. A float with a magnet moves over this pipe. When this magnet comes near a reed contact, a switch signal is initiated. The reed contacts are hermetically moulded and therefore insensitive to pollution. The minimum level monitoring reliably prevents that the reservoir is emptied inadvertently. If the level in the reservoir falls below an adjusted value, an electric pulse is activated by a capacitive proximity switch, which then can be used for an audible or a visual signal, for switching off the pump motor or for connecting an auxiliary pump, etc. A signal is also activated via the maximum level monitoring, if a preadjusted level is reached while filling up the pump. This signal can be used for switching off the filling pump. When the level monitoring is connected to an intelligent control (e.g. on-board computer, PLC), it has to be observed that the level signal is only evaluated after a period of 0 sec. That means the lubricant reservoir is only empty if there is no signal by the capacitive proximity switch for more than 0 sec. The pump should be switched off in this case (normally open contact - the black wire is connected). If the white lead is connected (normally closed contact), the pump first may be switched off, if there is a permanent signal by the proximity switch for more than 0 sec.
