CLAIM INFORMATION Reimbursement Time: 1.4 hours NOTE: This time includes the PDI of the navigation system (if equipped). PDI PROCEDURES Before Starting Review these items: Perfect Delivery documents, especially the information on battery maintenance and tire pressures Checklist in the PDI and Final Delivery Checklist booklet Make sure you record the PDI on the appropriate pages of the checklist. The PDI is not done until this bulletin and the checklist are both complete. Note on the repair order any repairs or problems that cannot be fixed within a few minutes. Remove all PDI items from the cargo area and glove box. To lower parasitic draw, the vehicle comes from the factory with the No. 18 BACKUP (10 A) fuse removed from the main under-hood fuse box. With it removed, the engine will not start when you apply the brake pedal and press the ENGINE START/STOP button. To start the engine with the No. 18 fuse removed, you must do this: 1. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once. 2. When the indicator blinks, touch the keyless remote to the ENGINE START/STOP button. Page 3 of 16

The indicator will switch from blinking to steady when communication is complete. 3. Start the engine by pressing the ENGINE START/STOP button while pressing the brake pedal. You must start the engine within 10 seconds of touching the remote to the button. 1. Install the Backup Fuse To lower battery drain during vehicle shipping, the No. 18 BACKUP (10 A) fuse is removed from the under-hood fuse box and stored in the glove box. Make sure you install this fuse with the ignition turned to OFF and wait for at least 1 minute before doing so. 2. Fuel the Vehicle Make sure the No. 18 BACKUP (10 A) fuse is installed before filling up the fuel tank (see Install the Fuses ). If you do it without the fuse installed, the fuel gauge will take much longer than normal to show an accurate reading. If this happens and you do not want to wait for the fuel gauge to show the correct level, turn the ignition to OFF and let the vehicle sit for 10 minutes. Install the fuse, then turn the ignition to ON. The fuel gauge will show the correct level. Page 4 of 16

3. Remove the Exterior Protective Coatings Carefully remove all of the exterior protective coatings. See S/B , Removal of Protective Coatings During PDI. Also, be sure to remove the factory sticker from the roof. Vehicle Interior 4. Remove the Interior Protective Coverings There are several protective coverings on the interior trim pieces and some areas of the carpet. Carefully remove all of them with clean hands to avoid soiling any surfaces. If any of the interior is dirty, clean it with mild soap or a Honda cleaning product such as Leather & Vinyl Cleaner (P/N ) or Carpet Spot Remover (P/N ). 5. Check the Spare Tire Pressure To check the spare tire pressure, follow these steps: 1. Slide the second-row seats backward. 2. Raise the floor carpet, and pull the handle to open the floor lid. 3. Tilt up the floor lid about 4 inches, then remove it. 4. Remove the tool kit case from the center of the spare tire. Loosen the wing nut, and remove the tire to access the valve stem. 5. Set the tire pressure to the value listed on the driver s doorjamb label. Reinstall the spare tire and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal. Page 5 of 16

6. Install the Floor Mats First- and second-row floor mats come standard on all trim levels. Third-row floor mats come standard only on trim levels above LX. Install the floor mats where they belong. Place the floor mat eyelets over the anchors in the floor, then turn the knobs clockwise to the lock position. Under-Hood (Engine Cold) 7. Check the Battery This vehicle comes with either a conventional flooded lead acid (FLA) battery or an absorbed glass mat (AGM) battery, depending on the trim level. Here is the breakdown: LX, EX, EX-L, and EX-L with Navigation and Rear Entertainment System: FLA Touring and Elite: AGM Each battery type has its own uniquely tuned charging and battery management systems, therefore cannot be interchanged. To ensure long battery life and that the customer gets a fully charged battery as outlined in S/B , Battery Maintenance at Dealers, it must be checked at these times: When the vehicle first arrives at the dealership During the PDI (if done at a later date) At regular intervals Just before vehicle delivery If you plan to keep the vehicle in long-term storage, be sure to remove the No. 18 BACKUP (10 A) fuse. Page 6 of 16

To access the battery for testing, follow these steps: 1. Starting on the passenger side, lift up the far edge of the front bulkhead cover. You will hear a pop as the striker in the cover releases from the latch in the body. 2. Using even, upward pressure, continue releasing the strikers from the latches, working your way toward the driver s end of the cover. There are a total of eight strikers and latches. 3. Make sure all of the strikers and latches remain in place. Use the Striker/Latch Kit (P/N TZ5-A00) to replace any that are missing or damaged. 4. Remove the intake duct (two clips). Test the battery with the ED-18 battery tester using S/B , Battery Testing and Replacement. Make sure the ED-18 has the latest software installed before using it. See S/B , ED-18 Battery Tester Update Information. If the test results show GR8 DIAGNOSTIC NEEDED, you must charge the battery with the GR8 battery diagnostic station. Make sure the GR8 has the latest software installed before using it. See S/B , GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station Update Information. NOTE: When charging an AGM battery, always select AGM. Serious damage can result if you select FLOODED (FLA). Also, make sure the negative battery lead is connected to the negative battery post. The temperature probe is in the handle of the negative lead. The GR8 monitors battery temperature during charging so that it does not overheat and destroy the battery. Write down the GOOD BATTERY 10-digit code in the PDI and Final Delivery Checklist booklet. During the PDI, write down the code in the Under Hood (Engine Cold) section. Then, at vehicle delivery, test the battery again, charge if needed, and write down the new code in the Final Inspection (At Delivery) section. When you are done, install the intake duct, then place the front bulkhead cover into position, and press down firmly at each striker location until you hear a click. Be sure the bulkhead center section outer corners are tucked under the grille seal. Page 7 of 16

Vehicle Exterior (Vehicle Raised to Full Height) 8. Install the Body Plugs Install the body plugs as shown. Vehicle Exterior (Vehicle Lowered to Half-Height) 9. Install the Front License Plate Holder If state regulations require the use of a front license plate, install the front license plate holder as follows: 1. Find the two dimples near the middle of the front bumper. 2. Center the holes in the front license plate holder over the dimples, then attach the holder with the two selftapping screws. The remaining screws in the kit are for attaching the license plate to the holder. Vehicle Exterior (Vehicle Lowered to Ground) 10. Set the Tire Pressures To prevent flat spots during vehicle shipping and storage, the tires are inflated to over 40 psi. If the vehicle is going into dealer storage, leave the pressures at 40 psi until it is sold. See the Perfect Delivery Action Plan for details. When the vehicle is moved to the showroom/sales lot or is sold, adjust the tire pressures to the cold inflation values listed on the driver s doorjamb label. If you are in a cold climate region, make sure the tires are at the same temperature as the outside air before adjusting the pressures; otherwise, the Low Tire Pressure/TPMS indicator may come on in cold weather. Page 8 of 16

11. Check the Remote Transmitters Check each remote transmitter to ensure it is working right. The personal setting default is set to open the power tailgate (if equipped) or a power sliding door (if equipped) with a single, 1-second button push without having to first unlock the doors. Under-Hood (Engine Idling) 12. Do the PCM Idle Learn Procedure To ensure a steady engine idle, do the PCM idle learn procedure after installing the No. 18 BACKUP (10 A) fuse. NOTE: This procedure must also be done after updating or replacing the PCM. It does not need to be done after clearing DTCs. Failure to do this procedure correctly may result in poor shift quality. If the vehicle has a 9-speed automatic transmission (all trims levels except Touring and Elite), A/T DTC P2638 (torque management feedback signal A range/performance) could also set. 1. Start the engine with the transmission in Park, and make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio unit, rear defogger, lights, etc.) are turned off. 2. Wait for the engine to reach operating temperature (the cooling fans cycle twice). 3. Let the engine idle for 10 minutes with the throttle fully closed. 4. Turn the ignition to OFF. 13. Do the CKP-Pattern Learn Procedure To ensure proper engine operation, do the CKP-pattern learn procedure after doing the PCM idle learn procedure. NOTE: Make sure all electrical loads (A/C, heated seats, audio unit, etc.) are turned off before doing this procedure. Failure to do this procedure correctly may result in poor driveability along with misfire DTCs. 1. While driving on a level road, decelerate from 2,500 rpm to 1,000 rpm with the transmission in 2 nd gear and the throttle fully closed. 2. Repeat step 1 three times. Vehicle Interior 14. Check Remote Engine Start Operation (All Except LX) Starting the Engine NOTE: Make sure all doors, the hood, and the tailgate are closed before remotely starting the engine. Press the Lock button on the remote transmitter, then within 5 seconds, press and hold the Remote Engine Start button until the outside turn signals blink once. The engine will run for 10 minutes. If the engine did not start, the remote was not able to communicate with the vehicle. While the remote engine start is on, the climate control system adjusts the cabin temperature, the security system stays on, and the gauges, exterior lights, and accessories stay off. Even though the engine keeps running when you open the driver s door with the remote or keyless access, to allow continuous engine operation, you need to apply the brake pedal and press the ENGINE START/STOP button to turn on the gauges, exterior lights, and accessories, and to shift from Park. Stopping the Engine The engine will stop running after 10 minutes. If you want to stop it before that time is up, press and hold the Remote Engine Start button until the engine shuts off. If the engine does not shut off, the remote was unable to communicate with the vehicle. Page 9 of 16

15. Initialize the Audio Unit Anti-theft Function, and Set the AM/FM Audio Unit Presets (LX Only) 1. After installing the No. 18 BACKUP (10 A) fuse, turn the ignition to ON, then press and hold the Power button/vol knob for at least 2 seconds. This synchronizes the audio unit with the vehicle and initializes the system for use. NOTE: You may see the factory InLine Diagnostics screen, which means the unit is in the factory diagnostic mode. If you do, follow these steps to exit the mode; otherwise, skip them and go to step 2. Select START DIAG. Press all of the buttons on the steering wheel that you see on the screen. The icons should turn green. Make a loud sound (like snapping your fingers or clapping your hands) next to the microphone in the ceiling console to complete the mic test. When you have completed all of the tests, the icons will be green. Select EXIT DIAG to exit the mode. Turn the ignition to OFF, then to ON, to make sure the InLine Diagnostics screen does not reappear. 2. If the vehicle is to be moved to the showroom or sales lot, enter a local AM or FM station on all of the audio unit presets. To enter a station, tune to it, change the screen to the preset screen, then press and hold the preset number that you want that station stored at. If the vehicle is sold, be sure to enter only what is listed on the completed personal settings sheet. 16. Set the Clock (LX Only) To set the clock, do this after installing the No. 18 BACKUP (10 A) fuse: 1. Press and hold the MENU/CLOCK button. 2. Select Adjust Clock with the selector knob, then push it in. 3. Turn the selector knob to adjust the hours. 4. Push in the selector knob to switch to minute adjustment. 5. Turn the selector knob to adjust the minutes. 6. Push in the selector knob to switch to Set. 7. Push in the selector knob to complete the clock adjustment. Page 10 of 16

17. Check/Refresh the SiriusXM Radio Dealer Demo Service (48-State, All Except LX) The audio system comes from the factory activated with the SiriusXM Radio dealer demo service. Once you install the No. 18 BACKUP (10 A) fuse, the system receives the full range of available channels. You can see a full list of available channels at While watching the display, tune to several channels within the full channel lineup. If you can tune to all of the channels, the dealer demo service is activated. 18. Check Wi-Fi Operation (All Except LX) To check Wi-Fi operation, do these steps from the Display Audio screen: 1. Select HOME, Settings, Connections, and Wi-Fi. 2. Make sure the vehicle is in Network mode. If needed, select Change Mode to switch to Network, then select Save. 3. Look for wireless access points under Available Networks. 19. Check the ACC, LKAS, Collision Mitigation Braking System, and Road Departure Mitigation Indicators (EX and Above) When you first turn the ignition to ON, these indicators should come on for a few seconds and then go off: ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist System) Collision Mitigation Braking System Road Departure Mitigation Page 11 of 16

20. Check the Blind Spot Information System (EX and Above) There is a BSI indicator near each side mirror and on the instrument panel. When you turn the ignition to ON, make sure these indicators come on for about 1 second and then go off. If the instrument panel BSI indicator stays on, make sure the system has not been turned off by checking the settings in the Display Audio. Select Settings > Vehicle > Driver Assist System Setup > Blind Spot Information. 21. Check the Window Auto Up/Down Feature Make sure the window auto up/down feature works right. This feature works all the windows for EX and higher trim levels and just the driver s window for the LX trim level. When you firmly press the window switch and then release it, the window should fully open; when you firmly pull back the switch and then release it, the window should fully close. If it does not work right, follow these steps to initialize the auto up/down feature: 1. Make sure the window is fully closed, then press and hold the window switch until the window opens all the way. 2. Pull back the window switch, and hold it until the window is fully closed. Keep holding the switch for another 2 seconds. 3. Check the auto up/down feature. When you firmly press the window switch and release it, the window should fully open; when you firmly pull back the switch and then release it, the window should fully close. If the window does not work this way, repeat the initialization. 4. If the auto up/down feature does not initialize, do the power window control unit reset procedure in the service information. 22. Check the Moonroof One-Touch Feature (EX-L and Above) Make sure the moonroof one-touch feature works right: When you firmly slide the moonroof switch backward and release it, the moonroof should fully open. When you firmly slide the switch forward and release it, the moonroof should fully close. When you push up on the switch and release it, the moonroof should tilt. If the moonroof does not work right, do the moonroof control unit reset procedure in the service information. 23. Check the Rear Entertainment System (RES) (If Equipped) The RES lets front seat passengers listen to one audio source through the speakers, while the second- and third-row passengers watch a DVD or listen to a different audio source through wireless headphones. The vehicle comes with two sets of headphones. The RES can play any discs that come with these labels. They must also have one of these region codes on the package or jacket. DVD-ROMs and Blu-ray ROMs (BD ROM) are not playable in this unit. Page 12 of 16

To ensure the RES is working right, follow these steps using both sets of headphones: 1. Install two AAA batteries into the left earpiece as shown. NOTE: The headphones will not turn on if the batteries are not correctly installed. 2. If a DVD is available, turn the ignition to ACCESSORY or ON, then insert the DVD into the DVD player. Lower the screen to the detent. 3. Press the power button on the right earpiece, and adjust the volume with the volume dial. 4. While the DVD is playing, test the functions with the remote control and make sure both headphones work right. They work in the rear seats only, not in the front seats, nor outside the vehicle. 5. When you are done, remove the DVD from the DVD player and store the remote control in the pocket on the back of the front passenger s seat. Store the headphones in the front seat-back pockets. Page 13 of 16

24. Check HondaVAC Operation (Touring and Elite) To check HondaVAC operation, do this: 1. Set the parking brake. 2. Start the engine. 3. Press the VAC POWER button to turn on the system. 25. Check Hands Free Access Power Tailgate Operation (Touring and Elite) (Accessory for EX-L and EX-L with Navigation and Rear Entertainment System) To check hands free access power tailgate operation, make sure you have the keyless remote with you, then kick your foot up under the rear bumper in the target area(s) to activate the hands free access power tailgate control unit/sensor. Make sure you are kicking straight up and straight back (no side-to-side motion), and keep it smooth and continuous (do not stop anytime during your kick). Also, watch the timing of your kick; you want to keep it to about 1 second in length. When the control unit/sensor activates, the taillights will blink, you will hear a beep, then the tailgate will start to open or close. Road Test 26. Check Tire Pressure Monitoring on the Driver Information Interface After completing the road test, use the steering wheel buttons and these steps to check tire pressure monitoring: 1. Turn the ignition to ON. 2. Press the Home button. 3. Press the up/down arrow buttons repeatedly until you see Maintenance on the driver information interface. 4. Press the ENTER button, and select Tire Pressure using the up/down arrows buttons. 5. Press the ENTER button. You should see the tire pressures. Page 14 of 16

If you do not see them, do this: 1. Turn the ignition to OFF. 2. Use a tire pressure gauge with a bleeder valve to lower the pressure in each tire to 18 psi or less. NOTE: Do not remove the valve core to lower the tire pressure. 3. Set the pressure in each tire to the cold inflation value listed on the driver s doorjamb label, and check it with the tire pressure gauge. 4. Turn the ignition to ON, and make sure you see the tire pressures. Final Inspection 27. Remove the Window Sticker Before customer delivery, remove the window sticker (Monroney label). Pull the sticker from the window by hand, then use glass cleaner on a clean shop towel to wipe off any leftover adhesive. NEW MODEL SERVICE INFORMATION Speed Automatic Transmission (Touring and Elite) The Touring and Elite trim levels come with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Built by Honda, it is the world s first for front wheel drive vehicles. All other trim levels come with a 9-speed automatic transmission. 2. Micro-Fiber Cloth (All Except LX) The Display Audio s high-gloss, anti-glare touch screen can pick up smudges from normal use. To help customers keep that screen clean, a micro-fiber cloth is included in the glove box. Insert this cloth in the Owner Information Kit. Do not remove this cloth from the vehicle. 3. CabinWatch (Touring and Elite) A wide-view camera mounted near the RES screen lets you keep tabs on backseat passengers through the Display Audio screen. Use the touch screen to zoom in on a single passenger. An infrared light source helps provide visibility when it is dark. This feature is a world s first for Honda. 4. CabinTalk (EX-L with Navigation and Rear Entertainment System, Touring, and Elite) This feature lets you talk to backseat passengers through the rear speakers and the RES wireless headphones. 5. Magic Slide Second-Row Seats (All Except LX) With the second-row center seat removed, you can move the two outboard seats in or out to provide easier access for third-row passengers. This feature is a world s first for Honda. Page 15 of 16

6. New Seat Heater System Logic (EX-L and Above) This vehicle uses new logic for the seat heater system. When you cycle the ignition, the previously selected settings for the seat heaters are now kept. After some period, the seat heater strength setting will automatically drop a level at a time until the seat heater shuts off. When this starts happening depends on the cabin environment. 7. Over the Air (OTA) System Updates (All Except LX) As a customer convenience, this vehicle features OTA system updating. It is similar to how cell phones and other electronic devices receive software updates. When a software update is available, you will see a notification on the Display Audio screen. 8. CabinControl (All Except LX) This feature is a downloadable smartphone app that lets you control these items using Wi-Fi: Front Audio Rear Climate Control Social Playlist Rear Entertainment System (If Equipped) Onboard Navigation (If Equipped) You can control these items using up to eight devices. 9. Electric Parking Brake (EPB) This vehicle comes with an EPB. To apply it, press the Electric Parking Brake switch. The parking Brake indicator comes on. To release it, press the brake pedal and pull up gently and securely on the switch. The Parking Brake indicator goes off. The electric parking brake automatically releases when you press the accelerator pedal under these conditions: You are wearing the driver s seat belt. The engine is running. The transmission is not in Park or Neutral. See the owner s guide or online owner s manual for details. 10. Folding Power Door Mirrors (Elite Only) The Elite trim level comes with folding power door mirrors. To unfold them, always use the Folding button on the driver s door. Never unfold them by hand. If you do, they will not be in the proper unfolded position and will have a slight looseness to them. If this happens, press the Folding button. The mirrors will return to their folded position. Then, press the button again. The mirrors will now go to their proper unfolded position and any looseness will be gone. END Page 16 of 16
