3 1 General information 1 General information 1.1 Scope of these instructions These instructions describe the function, installation, commissioning and operation of the unmixed HeatBloC K31. For other components of the installation, such as pumps and controllers, see the manufacturers' instructions. The chapters called [specialist] are intended for specialists only. 1.2 Designated use The HeatBloC may only be used in hydronic heating closed-loop systems taking into consideration the technical limit values indicated in these instructions. The HeatBloC must not be used in domestic water applications. Improper usage excludes any liability claims. Only use PAW accessories with the HeatBloC. The wrapping materials are made of recyclable materials and can be disposed of with recyclable materials. 2013/ x-mub-en V06 3

4 2 Safety instructions 2 Safety instructions The installation and commissioning as well as the connection of electrical components require technical knowledge commensurate with a recognised vocational qualification as a fitter for plumbing, heating and air conditioning technology, or a profession requiring a comparable level of knowledge [specialist]. The following must be observed during installation and commissioning: Relevant local and national prescriptions Accident prevention regulations of the professional association Instructions and safety instructions mentioned in this manual CAUTION Personal injury and damage to property! The HeatBloC must only be used in hydronic heating closed-loop systems filled with heating water according to VDI 2035 / Ö-Norm H The HeatBloC must not be used in domestic water applications. NOTICE Material damage due to mineral oils! Mineral oil products cause lasting damage to seals made of EPDM, whereby the sealant properties are lost. We do not assume liability nor provide warranty for damage to property resulting from sealants damaged in this way. It is imperative to avoid that EPDM gets in contact with substances containing mineral oils. Use a lubricant based on silicone or polyalkylene and free of mineral oils such as Unisilikon L250L and Syntheso Glep 1 of the Klüber company or a silicone spray x-mub-en V /05

5 3 Product description 3 Product description The unmixed HeatBloC K31 is a preassembled fitting group for hydronic heating closed-loop systems. 6 3 Product description 3.2 Description of function K31 - unmixed HeatBloC In the unmixed HeatBloC the flow from the boiler is directly pumped through the HeatBloC. Applications: boiler charging storage tank charging and discharging Check valve The HeatBloC is equipped with a check valve (D-2) in the return pipe. It can be opened manually. Normal operation During operation the slot must be in a horizontal position. The check valve is closed. Flow only in one direction. Opened manually for filling, emptying and bleeding For filling, emptying and bleeding the slot must be in a vertical position. The check valve is open. Flow in both directions x-mub-en V /05

7 4 Assembly and installation [specialist] 4 Assembly and installation [specialist] The unmixed HeatBloC K31 is mounted on a distribution manifold DN 50. The distribution manifold and the floor bracket for fixing the manifold are not part of delivery. NOTICE Damage to property! The location of installation must be dry, load-carrying, frost-proof and protected against ultraviolet radiation to prevent material damage to the installation. 4.1 Assembly of the distribution manifold 1. Choose the position for installation. The distance to the wall must be about 25 cm. Fasten the floor bracket with the enclosed wall plugs and screws. You can reduce the height of the wall brackets by shortening the guide rails. 2. Take off the insulating shells of the distribution manifold. 3. Put the distribution manifold onto the floor bracket and push the screws of the floor bracket through the ears at the manifold. 4. Fix the manifold to the floor bracket. 2013/ x-mub-en V06 7

Take off the thermometer handles and remove the front insulation shell of the HeatBloC. 2. Put the HeatBloC with the seals onto the flanges of the manifold and screw the flanges together. 3. Connect the HeatBloC to the installation. The connections to the installation must be stress-free. Connect the pump. 4. Check all thread connections and carry out a pressure test. 5.
