Do not smoke or have open fames. Keep bystanders away from the working area. Avoid injury from the movement of the spitting bade.
3 Aways keep hands out of the path of a moving parts. Do not remove jammed ogs with your hands. Before starting any repair maintenance or ceaning, aways disconnect the power. Dispose of the used oi in an environment-friendy way. Caution! Thrown objects. interferences. There shoud be penty of room for handing, and hep the operator stay aert. Keep your work area cean and we ighted. Cuttered areas invites injuries. To avoid tripping, do not eave toos, ogs, or other components aying around the work area. Do not use the og spitter in wet or damp areas or expose it to rain. Do not use it in areas where fumes from paint, sovents or fammabe iquids pose a potentia hazard. Never start or run tractor inside a cosed area. The exhaust fumes from tractor engines are dangerous, containing carbon monoxide, an odoress and deady gas. INSPECT YOUR LOG SPLITTER UNDERSTAND YOUR LOG SPLITTER DRUGS, ALCOHOL AND MEDICATION Do not operate the og spitter whie under the infuence of drugs, acoho, or any medication that coud affect your abiity to use it propery. SAFETY Safety Warnings & Instructions Read and understand the owner s manua and abes affixed to the og spitter. Learn its appication and imitations as we as the specific potentia hazards pecuiar to it. Be thoroughy famiiar with the contros and their proper operation. Know how to stop the og spitter quicky by disengaging the PTO and shutting down the tractor. AVOID DANGEROUS CONDITIONS Aways operate your og spitter on dry, soid, eve ground. Never operate your og spitter on sippery, wet, muddy, or icy surfaces. Never operate the machine whie it is off the ground ifted by tractor 3-point draft arms. The ocation you choose shoud be free from any ta grass, brush, or other 3 Check your og spitter before turning it on. Keep guards in pace and in working order. Form a habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from too area before turning it on. Repace damaged, missing or faied parts before using it. Make sure a nuts, bots, screws, hydrauic fittings, hose camps, etc. are securey tightened. Aways check the oi eve in the hydrauic oi tank. Never operate your og spitter when it is in need of repair or is in poor mechanica condition. Before starting work, test the stopping devices to keep them in safe working condition. DRESS PROPERLY Do not wear oose cothing, goves, neckties or jewery (rings, wrist watches). They can be caught in moving parts. Protective eectricay non-conductive goves, non-skid footwear and hearing protection are recommended when working. Wear protective hair covering to contain ong hair, preventing it from get caught in machinery. PROTECT YOUR EYES AND FACE Any og spitter may throw foreign objects into the eyes. This can cause permanent eye damage. Aways wear safety gogges. Everyday eyegasses have ony impact resistant enses. They are not safety gasses.
4 Improper use of extension cords may cause inefficient operation of the og spitter which can resut in overheating. Be sure the extension cord is no onger than 0m and its section is no ess than.5mm to aow sufficient current fow to the motor. Avoid use of free and inadequatey insuated connections. Connections must be made with protected materia suitabe for outdoor use. EXTENSION CORDS AVOID ELECTRICAL SHOCK Check that the eectric circuit is adequatey protected and that it corresponds with the power, votage and frequency of the motor. Check that there is a ground connection. Ground the og spitter. Prevent body contact with grounded surfaces: pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerator encosures. Never open the switch / pug box. Shoud this be necessary, contact a quaified eectrician. Make sure your fingers do not touch the pug s meta prongs when pugging or unpugging the og spitter. PREVENT FIRES Do not smoke or have open fames when operating or refiing the og spitter. Never operate the og spitter near a fame or spark. Oi is fammabe and can be expoded. KEEP BYSTANDERS AWAY Aow ony one person to oad and operate the og spitter. Aways keep bystanders, incuding visitors, chidren and pets away from the work area, especiay when the og spitter is under operations. Ony the operator shoud stand near the machine and ony within the safe operating area prescribed in this manua. Never use another peope to hep you with freeing jammed og. No one under the age of shoud be aowed to operate the og spitter. Any individua under the age of 8 shoud has the necessary training, skis to perform the functions propery and safey and shoud aways be under the supervision of adut. INSPECT YOUR LOG Never attempt to spit ogs containing nais, wire or debris. Aways make sure that both ends of the og you are spitting are cut as square as possibe. This wi prevent the og from siding out of position whie under pressure. Branches must be cut of fush with the trunk. DON T OVERREACH Keep proper footing and baance at a times. Never stand on og spitter. Serious injury coud occur if the too is tipped or if the cutting toos is unintentionay contacted. Do not store anything above or near the ogspitter where anyone might stand on the too to reach them. AVOID INJURY FROM UNEXPECTED ACCIDENT Do not stradde or reach across the spitting area when operating the og spitter. Never pie ogs to be spit in a manner that wi cause you to reach across the og spitter. Ony use your hands to operate the contro evers. Never use your foot, knee, a rope, or any other extension device. Never stand near the PTO driveshaft whie it is in operation. Aways pay fu attention to the movement of the wedge ram. Never attempt to oad your og spitter whie the ram is in motion. Keep hands out of the way of a moving parts. Never try to spit two ogs on top of each other. One of them may fy up and hit you. PROTECT YOUR HANDS Keep your hands away from spits and cracks which open in the og. They may cose suddeny and crush or amputate your hands. Do not remove jammed ogs with your hands. DON T FORCE TOOL It wi do a better and safer job at its design rate. Don t use og spitter for a purpose for which it was not intended. Do not ater the equipment, or use the equipment in such a way as to circumvent its design capabiities and capacities. Never try to spit ogs arger
5 than those indicated in the specifications tabe. Do not run the og spitter at a PTO shaft speed of more than 50 rpm maximum. Higher PTO shaft speed wi damage the og spitter and may cause persona injury. DISCONNECT POWER Whenever eave the operating position, aways unpug and/or disengage PTO, shut down the tractor engine, remove the key, wait for a moving parts to come to a competey stop, disconnect the PTO driveshaft. MAINTAIN YOUR LOG SPLITTER WITH CARE Before ceaning, repair, inspecting or adjusting, shut off the machine and make certain a moving parts have stopped. Aways cean the unit after each use. Keep the og spitter cean for best and safest performance. Foow instructions for ubricating. Inspect a hydrauic seas, hoses and coupers for eaks prior to use. Contro evers and power switch must be kept cean, dry and free from oi and grease at a times. PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT Take used oi to an authorized coection point or foow the stipuations in the country where the og spitter is used. Do not discharge into drains, soi or water. MAKE THE WORKSHOP CHILDPROOF Lock the shop. Store the og spitter away from chidren and others not quaified to use it. DEAL WITH ACCIDENT Aways have a fire extinguisher and a firstaid kit avaiabe for use shoud the need arise. In emergency aways know the ocation of the nearest phone or keep a phone on the job site. Aso know the phone numbers of the nearest ambuance, doctor and fire department. This information wi be invauabe in the case of an emergency. 5

The surrounding humidity shoud ess than 50% at 0 o C. It can be stored or transported under ambient temperatures between -5 o C and 55 o C. ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS With 3 phase 00 Vot / 50Hz motor, the og spitter shoud be connected to standard 00V+0% / 50Hz+%Hz. Eectrica suppy which has protection devices of under-votage, over-votage, overcurrent as we as a residua current device (RCD) which maximum residua current rated at 0.03A. The mains connection and extension cabe must have 5 wires = 3P + N + PE (3/N/PE). The mains connection must have maximum 8 A fuse. Eectrica connection rubber cabes must compy with EN05 which are aways marked with symbo H 07 RN. Cabes shoud be identified, as it is a ega requirement.

8 ASSEMBLY. M A Secure the hookup pins to hitch bracket. 3 C M0. Attach the PTO cover to the spitter with two M0 nuts. B 3. Keeping the support stand against the wedge, ower both contro handes to expand wedge ram. Insert the L pins to secure the cyinde to the spitter. Lock the L pins into the spring tabs. 8
9 M E Position the retaining hook onto the frame and secure with three M0X35 hex bots and nuts.. Reease both contro handes to retract the wedge ram. Remove the support stand. M0 0 D 5. Aign the hoe and ocking pin of the guard arm with the mount bracket. Secure the guard arm with a M0X0 hex bots, two washers and a nut from the hardware bag. 57 M0 0 E Repeat above procedure for the other side. M 00 F Position the og ift inside the mounting bracket and aign with mounting bracket hoes. Secure with a MX00 hex bot and nut. Hook the ift chain to wedge side guide. 9
10 INSTALLING PTO DRIVESHAFT The og spitter can be driven by a PTO driveshaft (not provided with the og spitter) that transmits torque from tractor during norma operation. The PTO driveshaft represents exterme danger. Ready and understand a of the safety and operating instructions manua that came with the PTO driveshaft... Back the rear of the tractor toward the og spitter. Position the ower draft arms cose enough to the spitter s hookup pins. Appy the tractor parking brake and turn the engine off. Bock the rear whees on both sides in front and back with wedges or other appropriate objects. 3. Side the ower draft arms onto the spitter hookup pins and secure with ocking pins.. Position the upper draft arm inside the mounting bracket and aign with the mounting bracket hoes. Insert the hitch pin to secure the upper draft arm in pace. The PTO shaft end from the gearbox has a diameter of -3/8" (3.8mm) and a -spine fitting (standard category PTO). 5. Side the PTO driveshaft over the PTO shaft ends on the gearbox and tractor respectivey. Press inward on the spring pins that are ocated on both ends of the PTO driveshaft. Continue siding the driveshaft over the PTO shaft ends unti the spring pins pop out and ock into the detents in the PTO shaft ends. Keep spitter PTO shaft end () and tractor PTO shaft end () parae as viewed from above and from the sides of the shafts. Maintain PTO shaft joint anges ( ) as sma as possibe.. Secure the PTO shaft safety chains to stationary parts of the og spitter and tractor to stop the guard from turning. 0
11 DISCONNECTING PTO DRIVESHAFT Appy a thin coat of grease to the surfaces of the ram before operation wi engthen the durabiity of the ram... Reduce tractor throtte to IDLE before disengaging PTO. Appy the parking brake and turn off the engine. Pu up the ocking pins and side the ower draft arms of the tractor off from the spitter hookup pins. 3. Pu up the hitch pin and side the upper draft arm off from the mounting bracket.. Reease the spring pins ocated on both ends of the driveshaft. Side the PTO driveshaft off from the PTO shaft ends on the gearbox and tractor respectivey. TRANSPORTATION 3-point attachment to tractor aows the og spitter to be moved easiy. Aow for added ength in driving situations, e.g., when turning, parking, and crossing intersections. Before transporting, be certain the og spitter is correcty and securey attached to the tractor and the safe chains of the PTO are in pace. Make sure the og spitter is raised high enough to cear a obstaces during transportation. Never transport the og spitter with the PTO engaged. SPLITTER OPERATION Pan your work site. Work safey and save effort by panning your work before hand. Have your ogs positioned where they can be easiy reached. Have a site ocated to stack the spit wood or oad it onto a nearby truck or other carrier. Position the og spitter on soid eve ground. Beed the air out of the hydrauic system before starting the og spitter. The cover of the hydrauic oi tank shoud be oosened by some rotations unti air can go in and out of the oi tank smoothy. Air fow thru the oi tank fier shoud be detectabe during the operations. Before moving the og spitter, make sure the cover of the oi tank is tightened to avoid oi eaking from this point. Faied to oosen the oi tank cover wi keep the seaed air in hydrauic system being compressed after being decompressed. Such continuous air compression and decompression wi bow out the seas of the hydrauic system and cause permant damage to the og spitter. Turn the motor switch to the ON position to start the og spitter. To stop the machine, just turn the motor switch to the OFF position.
12 Make sure the direction of motor rotation. Turn the motor on, the wedge ram shoud rise to the highest position automaticay. If the wedge ram is aready at the highest position when the motor starts, grip both contro evers and ower them, the wedge ram shoud start to move downward. In case, no ram motion detected after the motor starts, power off the motor immediatey to change motor poarity by turning the poe switching device inside the pug with a screwdriver. 00V 3N Never aow motor running at counter direction. This wi damage the pump and wi void the warranty. The PTO of the tractor can power a separate hydrauic pump on the og spitter to perform the function of spitting ogs. Set tractor throtte at IDLE before engaging PTO with og spitter attached. Increase tractor throtte to RUN RPM s required to obtain 50 rpm PTO speed before spitting. Reduce tractor throtte to IDLE before disengaging PTO. Operate the spring-oaded retract contro ever to ift wedge above the height of og to be spit. Danger of og spitter tipping due to torque resuting during operating, causing serious injuries and damage. Log spitter must be secured by using 3-point attachment to tractor. Tractor hydrauics makes the og spitter secure against tipping over during operation, and yet aows it to be moved easiy. Aways ensure parking brake is engaged on tractor and the rear whees are bocked with whee chocks both sides in front and back.
13 To disenage the retract contro eve by removing the oading spring wi aow the wedge ram to retract automaticay after both contro handes are reeased. Do not remove jammed ogs with your hands. Never use another peope to hep you with freeing jammed og. Stack as you work. This wi provide a safer work area, by keeping it uncuttered, and avoid the danger of tripping, or damaging the power cord. Accumuated spit wood and wood chips can create a hazardous work environment. Never continue to work in a cuttered work area which may cause you to sip, trip or fa. FREE A JAMMED LOG Pace the og onto the support tabe verticay, sitting fat on the support tabe and push it against the hangnai to secure it. Be sure the wedge and support tabe wi contact the og squarey on the ends. Never attempt to spit a og at an ange. Lower the wedge unti the og is spitted open. Do not attempt to spit green ogs. Dry, seasoned ogs spit much more easiy, and wi not jam as frequenty as green wood. Break og in the direction of its growing grain. Do not pace og across the og spitter for spitting. It may be dangerous and may seriousy damage the machine. Do not remove jammed ogs with your hands. If jammed, stop the motor or tractor, and oosen the og by a downward stroke on the og with a hammer. REPLACING OIL The hydrauic system is a cosed system with oi tank, oi pump and contro vave. Low oi eves can damage the oi pump. Check oi eve reguary with dipstick. The oi shoud be competey changed once a year. Foowing hydrauic ois or equivaent are recommend for the og spitter s hydrauic transmission system: SHELL Teus MOBIL DTE ARAL Vitam GF BP Energo HLP-HM 3
14 Read dipstick to determine the maximum and minimum of the oi eve. Low oi can damage the oi pump. Overfiing can resut in excessive temperature in the hydrauic transmission system. Appy seaant to fier pug and reinsta it. Foowing an oi change, activate the og spitter a few times without actuay spitting. Oi fier pug Oi drain pug SHARPENING WEDGE This og spitter is equipped with reinforced spitting wedge which bade is speciay treated. After ong periods of operation, and when required, sharpen the wedge using a fine-toothed fie removing any burrs or fat spots on the edge. GEARBOX LUBRICATION Make sure moving parts stop and the og spitter is unpugged and PTO driveshaft is disconnected. Use a drain pan to aid in the remova of a used oi and partices. Remove oi drain pug to drain oi from the hydrauic transmission system. Examine oi for meta chips as a precaution to future probems. After oi has been competey drained from the machine, reinsta drain pug. Add the hydrauic transmission system with recommended oi through fier pug opening. Max. Min. Oi eve Fiing Hoe Inspection Hoe Oi Drain Pug The gearbox is pre-serviced using SAE90 gear oi. Drain the gear oi after first 5 hours of use and refi with fresh oi as specified. Then change after every 50 hours of use or every six months, whichever is earier. After each oi change check that the correct amount of oi has been poured into the gearbox. Check oi every 8 hours: Oi eve is correct if the ower edge of the inspection hoe is neary covered with oi.
