Bulls will be penned the day before the sale, feel free to come Thursday evening, take a look and enjoy a refreshment. Insurance: We will do our best to provide for your purchases, but are not responsible for any accidents and recommend you insure your purchases. Listed EPD s are as of April 21, 201 All bulls will be semen tested prior to sale day by Johnson Vet. The bulls being offered are free of AM, NH, and CA genetic defects through DNA testing or pedigree. Bulls carrying the DD gene will either be listed as DDF or DDC, determined through testing or pedigree. Delivery: Free delivery on bulls within 300 miles or to central stockyard points on bulls totalling $3000 or more. Arrangements will be made to get your purchases delivered as soon as possible after the sale. If you haul them home sale day we ll take $0 off per bull. Lunch: A complimentary lunch will be served at 12:30 sale day. Liability: Duppong s Willow Creek assumes no liability for accidents or injuries that occur on the sale premises. Terms and Conditions: Cattle will sell under the Standard Terms and Conditions as recommended by the American Angus Association. We guarantee our bulls to be sound, fertile and reproductive in accordance with the rules and regulations of the American Angus Association. Semen Interest: Duppong s Willow Creek will retain ½ semen interest in all the bulls in the sale. If we do collect semen, we ll make arrangements most convenient for everyone. 3 Fellow Cattlemen, Welcome to our 21st Annual Born To Perform Bull Sale, Friday, May 23rd at 2:00pm at the Ranch, celebrating 108 years in the cattle business of which the last 1 have been raising registered Angus cattle. As you go through the reference sires, you ll notice several new and exciting sires proving themselves to be able to compete in all the aspects that our traditional sires offer with different genetics to compliment the genetics offered within the Angus breed. Last fall s ice and snow storm was a challenge for many and many adjustments were made to get through the fall. A rough synopsis s for us was getting the calves off the cows as soon as conditions would let us haul them home. Once we got the calves home to wean, the corrals were too wet and muddy, so we decided to turn them out into the pasture until the corrals dried up or froze up which was December 1st. We then moved the calves into their pens and started them on their rations. It was not ideal, but the calves remained healthy. This particular group of bulls seems to be quite docile and have nice 126 day gains considering it took a lot of energy just to keep warm this winter. Calving Ease Direct (CED) - the difference in percentage of unassisted births, with a higher value indicating greater calving ease in first-calf heifers. Birth Weight (BW) expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire s ability to transmit birth weight to his progeny compared to that of other sires. Weaning (WW) expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire s ability to transmit weaning growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires. Milk is a predictor of a sire s genetic merit for milk and mothering ability as expressed in his daughters compared to daughters of other sires. In other words, it is that part of a calf s weaning weight attributed to milk and mothering ability. Yearling Weight (YW) expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire s ability to transmit yearling growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires. # This symbol denotes Pathfinder status.
