The weather app which has been optimised for iphones and android phones gives 24 hour to long range forecasting the latest industry news and even a service which enables you to easily contact your local dealer for further information. The weather app provides exceptionally accurate local forecasts with data drawn from a network of over weather stations distributed across the world. By using geo-location technology data is received and analysed from the closest sub-station. A whole raft of information is available for browsing including actual and feels like temperature pressure wind speed and direction. Another important parameter that is displayed is the evaporation rate crucial when irrigation decisions are being made. The historical data can also be accessed to plot trends and manage seasonal working patterns. Long range seven day forecasting will also assist in efficient planning as it will enable you to decide when it is best to sow harvest or fertilise for example depending on the actual forecast. Frequently visited sites can be stored and recalled an invaluable feature for contractors that operate over vast areas in order to optimise weather sensitive tasks during busy harvesting or foraging windows. 4 Customer Profile New Holland T7 Adrian Holloway uses New Holland tractors for his farming and contracting work in Frampton Dorset. The latest addition to his set up is the New Holland T7270 acquired as an ex-demonstrator model from C&O Tractors earlier this year. Adrian works 800 acres of arable land and delivers four stubble-to-stubble contracts that cover 1800 acres. With his team of three Adrian runs four tractors a Ford 840 and New Hollands T6080 and T7040 alongside the new T7270 and two New Holland combines tailoring tractors to specific jobs whilst also retaining a certain degree of flexibility. Having been involved with Ford and County tractors for years New Holland s were the natural progression. It makes sense keeping with a brand I know and it s practical to be able to move tools between tractors said Adrian. Stanley Ponds first sold a tractor to Adrian in 1998 and since then C&O have continued to supply high-spec machines. In buying his latest tractor getting the right specification was vital for Adrian. Front linkage and air brakes were a priority and tyre specification was also important. C&O have given me good service over the years they have a commitment to supplying what I need and they give a good back up service on top of that the extended warranty is great as I know my running costs said Adrian. 5 C & O Weddings & Future Roots... Future Roots receives Welly-aid from C&O Tractors C&O Tractors have come to the assistance of Future Roots in the form of a delivery of wellies for the use of visitors to the farm. Future Roots is a not-for-profit organisation based at Rylands Farm a 0-acre livestock farm between Sherborne and Dorchester. It uses Dorset s farming heritage to create a therapeutic environment that can benefit children and adults of all abilities. The donation of wellies by C&O will benefit visitors of all ages to the farm. C&O Blandford depot manager Paul Grant said Future Roots provides a valued needed and respected service within the Dorset community for individuals who have much to offer and C&O is very happy to be able to contribute in a small way to the continued success of this project. Future Roots support young people aged 5 to 19 who want to build a countryside career or gain an accreditation as well as those who have been experiencing living and learning difficulties. By reconnecting with the countryside these young people are able to build their resilience personal responsibility and employability. The farm is an inclusive space and in the last year they also begun to host older people who want an alternative to traditional day care. Future Roots believe that this is a great opportunity for generations to learn together in the countryside. Future Roots is based on the ethos of care farming or the therapeutic use of farming practices. Care farms provide health social or educational care services for a wide range of people. Participants attend farm sessions on a regular basis and the service is often commissioned by referring agencies such as schools doctor s surgeries or residential homes. Here come the Brides C&O were able to help out with not one but two happy days over the summer by donating the use of two tractors as wedding transport with a difference. Laura Tyrrell married Will Box on 22nd September in Bryanston and was driven to the church in a New Holland T The T7.210 had previously been demonstrated by Laura s father Tim Tyrrell for Mr Stuart Buckland. Laura and Will Jenna and Justin Holden were married in Winterbourne Stickland on 15th September and they used a New Holland T8.270 as part of their celebrations. All the guests had a fantastic time and where amazed by the sheer size of the T Jenna stated that I have always wanted a tractor for my wedding as it adds a different twist to the day.
