2 Boma 7 The Boma 7 is a lightweight, electrically powered all terrain wheelchair designed to be easily accessible, simple to use and incredibly capable off road. Boma chairs began back in 2005 and we have been learning and developing and improving over the last seven years. Boma 7 looks unlike any other wheelchair and feels unlike any other wheelchair when you ride. The Boma is designed for easy access from a wheelchair. The chair can be drawn close to the frame for a simple sliding transfer; if you can access a car, you can access a Boma. Hoisted transfers are also extremely easy thanks to removable handlebars and armrests (if fitted). Simply switch on, select speed and direction and twist the throttle travelling easily through forest, mud, snow, trails and beaches. 5 Joystick Boma Boma 7 Joystick The Joystick Boma 7 is based on the standard chair chassis. It features the same suspension, drive and ground clearance as the handlebar chair with additional control technology. The handlebar chair is extremely easy to use even for individuals with limited arm and hand strength. But for those riders who need that extra assistance we have developed Boma 7 Joystick. Operating a Boma 7 Joystick can be a revelation, particularly if you are used to using an indoor/outdoor powered wheelchair; there is so much clearance over obstacles and so much grip! You ll find yourself floating over previously impassable terrain; the feeling of freedom is fantastic. The Dynamic Controls DX2 system is easily programmed to your driving style. Easy and simple to use, the Joystick can be operated by a wide variety of ability levels with adjustable driving limits such as maximum speed/acceleration. Depending on your requirements, the control can be mounted on the left or right side of the seat base, or positioned as an attendant control or chin control. 6 Accessories & Customisation At Molten Rock we understand that everyone has different abilities; that is to say no two customers requirements are the same. Our aim is to provide you with a Boma that you can easily access, operate and enjoy. After all, if it is easy and enjoyable then the more adventures you will have from your Boma. Please contact us if you have questions about customisation or our range of accessories. Accessories We can supply many versions of detectable bags to carry supplies and luggage. Road Lighting Kit with front, rear lights plus hazard and indicator lights. This kit can be fitted both the Handlebar and Joystick chairs. Bob lightweight trailer. Capable of carrying 35kg the Bob trailer lets you bring along camping gear, a picnic or even to carry your everyday lightweight wheelchair. Once you get to your destination you can transfer into your chair. Front mudguards. Flexible guards that do restrict access but keep you clean in muddy, wet conditions. Seat harness. Extremely useful for users with limited upper body control; making you feel safe and secure so you can enjoy the outdoors. Dual throttle controls. For Handlebar Boma we can install both left and right hand throttle controls allowing you to switch between then depending on your ability or fatigue. Customisation Modification to the foot plate to accommodate different leg length. Specialist Joystick positioning; we can provide varying joystick position options including chin control. Specialist seating; back rests and support harness for riders with limited upper body stability. Specialist arm supports; padded channel arm rests and hand supports. Custom battery carrying Input sockets to run extra batteries carried in trailer Transport options Thanks to the fantastic battery range of the Boma 7, many riders set off from home in their Boma 7s. But there are a number of simple ways to safely transport your Boma 7 using a vehicle; 1. The Boma 7 can be easily rolled into the back of most MPV s and larger estate cars 2. Another popular option is our purpose built vehicle mounted rack. Again, no lifting- just roll the Boma 7 using the folddown ramps! 3. 7 The Company Molten Rock Equipment Ltd was established in 2004 with the aim of changing perceptions about assistive equipment, particularly mobility products. We feel strongly that the aesthetic of mobility equipment should not accentuate someone s disability but reflect their lifestyle, interests and abilities. Mark 1 Boma chairs first sold in 2007 and quickly developed a repetition for reliability and robust build. In 2010 the Boma 7 was launched following 18 months of design work and customer feedback to bring together all we have learned. How to arrange a demonstration We always recommend that you try a Boma before purchasing; it really is the best way to understand how easy the Boma 7 is to transfer into, to use and how it performs off road. A trial often sparks ideas about how and where you could use a Boma and how it would fit into your lifestyle. There are many ways you can try a Boma for yourself; We can arrange a demonstration at your home or a location where you would like to use the Boma. You can visit our showroom just outside Milton Keynes on an old farm yard. We have plenty of obstacles and tracks for you to try out and you can see where your Boma will be made.
