BOOTH FEATURES Complete Package GFS Paint Booths are shipped complete with everything you need to build and operate it, including wall panels, fan, motor, doors, intake and exhaust filters with grids, light fixtures and tubes, controls, assembly hardware and installation drawings. Bridge Plenum Heavy-Duty Panels GFS truck and large equipment booths are constructed and rigidly reinforced with single-skin, 18-gauge, G-90 galvanized steel. Solid Construction Pre-punched booth panels and nut-and-bolt assembly takes the guesswork out of installing a paint booth, and provides more structural integrity. Working Width Working Depth SELECTING A BOOTH SIZE Deciding on the right size paint booth isn t always an easy task. Use the following guidelines to help you determine the appropriate size booth for your needs. Width: Width of the largest item (including fixture or pallet) plus 5 feet Height: Height of the largest item (including fixture or pallet) plus 2 feet Depth: Depth of the largest item plus 3 feet (clearance at the rear) Additional Sizing Considerations: Conveyorized Booths: Width must be sufficient to allow finishers to complete the finishing operation within the allotted time. Spraying should not be closer than 2 feet from the conveyor opening. Bridge Intake Chambers w/ Solid Doors: Decrease booth opening by 2 feet high and 4 feet wide on a booth with a bridge intake chamber. Filtered Doors: Decrease booth opening by 4 feet wide when using filtered doors on large booths. Doors: Door openings must accommodate the dimensions of the object being brought into the booth.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE AIRFLOW GFS truck and large equipment booths feature highperformance, multi-filtered airflow.

Light fixtures are ETL-listed and come complete with T-8 color-corrected tubes. 4-Tube Solid Back or Drive Through Paint Booths can be designed with a solid back or as a drive through configuration.

Air enters the booth through a fulllength, filtered ceiling plenum. From there, air flows vertically over the product and into the filtered exhaust pit in the floor.

3 HIGH-PERFORMANCE AIRFLOW GFS truck and large equipment booths feature highperformance, multi-filtered airflow. Choose from three styles: Superior Lighting GFS paint booths feature integrated 4-tube, inside-access fluorescent light fixtures. Light fixtures are ETL-listed and come complete with T-8 color-corrected tubes. 4-Tube Solid Back or Drive Through Paint Booths can be designed with a solid back or as a drive through configuration. Downdraft Design Generally accepted as the best airflow style, downdraft booths do an excellent job at controlling overspray and contamination. Air enters the booth through a fulllength, filtered ceiling plenum. From there, air flows vertically over the product and into the filtered exhaust pit in the floor. Engineered Pit Design Filter media is supported by secondary grating, enabling balanced air distribution and maximizing filter utilization DOORS Personnel Doors Each booth includes at least on personnel door, depending on the size of the booth. Product (Entry) Doors Booth product doors can be filtered or solid. Used only with non-pressurized booths, filtered entry doors allow product entry and exit while filtering the input air. These doors attach to the front of the booth and do not add depth. Solid entry doors are used in pressurized applications to enclose the booth. Product doors can be either 2-panel swing or 4-panel bi-fold. 4-panel bi-fold doors are shown. Filtered Solid Side Downdraft Design Side downdraft booths are an economical solution for shops that can t afford or aren t able to install a pit. Air comes into the booth through a full-length, filtered ceiling plenum, and flows downward over the product. When air reaches the floor, it is pulled into floorlevel filtered exhaust plenums on either side of the booth. Crossdraft Design The simplest configuration, crossdraft booths use an exhaust fan to pull air in at one end of the booth. Air may pass through a filtered door, enter the working chamber unfiltered or be pushed through a pressurized intake plenum. Air flows parallel to the floor, across the vehicle and into a filter bank at the booth rear. - Note: Product doors can be either swing 2-panel doors or bi-fold 4-panel doors. Bi-fold 4-panel doors are shown.

The result is a booth that is balanced automatically and stays in balance as the filters load up with paint overspray.

All control wires are numbered for easy wire identification and all components are labeled to match electrical schematic. A terminal strip is included for field wiring. CONTROL PANEL UPGRADES For Spray Booths The Auto Balance System is designed to keep the paint booth balanced while in operation. The system monitors interior pressure and adjusts exhaust fan RPMs to what is needed for the volume of exhaust air, based on the intake air volume. The result is a booth that is balanced automatically and stays in balance as the filters load up with paint overspray. Includes: Variable frequency device (VFD) Differential pressure gauge Sensing probes NEMA type 12 industrial panel with door-mounted disconnect switch Magnetic motor starter with overhead heater & 120V control coil Air solenoid for safety interlock (120 V) Light switch, 120V or 277V Push button motor starter Panel-mounted controls INSIGHT CONTROL PANEL Included on all booths with cure cycle A PLC-based, UL-listed control system with an intuitive, simplistic touch screen, the INSIGHT control panel allows you to continually monitor all systems for safety and function. Pop-up displays indicate running information and faults, while the Professor help function guides the operator through fixing faults. An energy saving upgrade, the Economizer is recommended for pressurized booths with an air makeup unit. Located inside the paint booth, a gun hanger switch controls the booth function from paint mode to energy saving mode. When the paint gun is hanging on the hook, the booth airflow slows to half speed. When the paint gun is removed from the hook, airflow resumes to full speed. Includes: Auto Balance System with VFD, differential pressure gauge and sensing probes Gun hanger switch For - Spray Booths The Consta-Flow system monitors static pressure and adjusts the exhaust fans RPMs to what is needed for the volume of exhaust air, based on how loaded the filters are. The result is a booth with constant airflow as filters load up with paint, increasing filter life. Includes: VFD Differential pressure gauge Sensing probes NEMA type 12 industrial panel with door-mounted disconnect switch 5.7 black and white screen Intuitive pop-up screens and digital displays for setting or indicating temperatures and timings, as well as current or changing operations and faults Professor help functions Power Saver is an energy saving upgrade that slows the exhaust fan when the painter is not painting. When the spray gun is on the gun hanger, the fan is slowed; when the spray gun is removed from the gun hanger, the fan returns to full speed. Energy is conserved because the fan motor uses less electricity and the booth exhausts less heated air during cold months. Includes: VFD Gun hanger switch NOTE: In cases where an air makeup unit accompanies a non-pressurized spray booth, Power Saver will only control the spray booth.

GFS weatherproof outside paint booths consist of three parts: the interior booth, the structural frames and the exterior shell. The interior paint booth is constructed of 18-gauge galvanized steel panels and insulated to R-12 value. The exterior shell consists of 24- & 26-gauge pre-coated ribbed steel panels, supported by structural steel frames. GFS outdoor booths are constructed to meet the same code requirements as our indoor booths, in additional to IBC and ASCE7 codes for wind, snow and seismic loads. For spray applications using flammable and combustible materials, the standards are NFPA 33 and Chapter 24 of the International Fire Code (IFC). For curing and drying applications, the standards are NFPA 86 and Chapter 30 of the IFC. Often local requirements vary from these national codes and standards so it is important that you consult the local authority having jurisdiction before specifying and purchasing paint finishing equipment.
